NicNat not only bullish about a midseason return but also talking openly about his likely substantial cut. To the effect of; "Happy to do so to keep the squad together.. give me the contract and we'll get it done, the club has always done the right thing by me".

That quote from NN deserves multiple likes! What a legend... loyalty isn't completely dead

Let's hope he stays on track for a round 10 return

Update from today’s session from Travis King.

Important midfielder Jack Redden was an early casualty with a leg problem, but West Coast premiership stars Jeremy McGovern, Elliot Yeo and Tom Barrass ramped up their comebacks during a sweltering training session at Lathlain Park on Wednesday.

Redden, who spoke earlier this week about his setback-free summer, was pointing to his right leg as he walked from the track accompanied by a trainer just half-an-hour into the 90-minute hitout.

The 28-year-old disappeared indoors for treatment and re-emerged 20 minutes later before icing just below his knee on the sidelines.

Teammates including Chris Masten came to check on Redden, who didn't appear in any significant discomfort but failed to rejoin training.

In promising news, Yeo (toe) and Barrass (foot) completed the entire early-morning session without a hitch.

Mmm hope nothing serious.

He stayed out on the field doing little things like giving the rucks someone to tap the ball to so I don’t think there’s much to it

Haggers muttered something about a serius inury to Liam Duggan at the end of his skit this morning.

Any substance?

"Young forward Jake Waterman (ankle) completed some skills work before breaking away for individual running, while half-back Liam Duggan kicked and marked without issue but was held back from the full workload after leaving training early last Wednesday."

Might be one of those rare times when he's overstated the severity of an injury.

WEST Coast is taking a cautious approach with star spearhead Josh Kennedy's battle-scarred body but coach Adam Simpson hopes the dual Coleman medallist will be ready for a season-opening trip to Brisbane.

Kennedy was a conspicuous absentee from training last week, after a heavy running workload this summer coming back from a shoulder operation.

The 31-year-old jogged and walked laps alongside small forward Jamie Cripps – who will miss the early rounds after toe surgery – at Lathlain Park on Monday and appears in doubt for the JLT Community Series after scaling back his workload.

"We just had a bit of a de-load on JK as he went really hard pre-Christmas and in January, so we'll build him back up and get him up for round one, hopefully," Simpson said.

This is my least favourite thread to see new posts in during the pre-season. Always opened with some trepidation. :moustache:
The upside this season, is we seem to have some good depth to cover most positions/injuries.
and the bonus with any early injuries - we get to see some of this new depth.
We covered injuries pretty well last season, except for when JK+JD were out?
But even that scenario is covered now...
