When did Coniglio and O'Meara become BFFs?

Coniglio grew up in Perth and played for Swans, was drafted to GWS in 2011. O'Meara grew up in Dongara, played one season for Perth and was drafted to Gold Coast in 2011. They would've played one carnival of U/18s together and that's about it.

Eagles have two 2nd rounders plus a 1st in this draft plus future picks.

As a rfa Cogs could net GWS a single pick in the teens if he goes as a rfa. So anything better than a single pick in the teens is in play.

I would offer two firsts for Cogs. 2019 plus 2020.

Kelly out of contract I would offer the two 2019 2nd rounders.

Job done.

Brander may come into the Cogs deal as he was GWS bound thriugh their academy before the zones were changed.

Eagles have the currency to land both so no need to worry.

COGs will require an early first round plus a late first which WC don’t have access to.

Neale went for pick 6 and 19. That should be a worst case scenario for GWS as COGs is in a very different league to Neale.

If brander comes into the trade WC more urgently require a key forward or back replace Hurn and Kennedy than what the require COGs.

Oscar Allen is undersized and Waterman isn’t up to it yet.

Sorry can’t see it happening.

Coniglio is still a free agent, so his value will be framed by that. Dangerfield went for 9, 28 and Dean Gore. It's never as simple as saying 'he's worth X' and a trade panning out. If Coniglio decides he wants to join WC, GWS will weigh up the FA compo on offer (I expect a mid teens pick as they're still a good team) compared to what we can offer via trade. Tim Kelly is a sideshow. Geelong were playing silly buggers last year trying to get us to overpay when he was under contract. You can only play that card once and we checked.

The Tim Kelly is not just a side show. If WC decide not to trade it will have implications with relationships with player managers and their inability to complete trades.

Dangerfield trade still required a top 10 pick. Still can’t see where WC secure one of those....

Sorry he stays at GWS

So cute how you finish your posts off with 'sorry...but x y z will happen'.

Like you have any say in it.

As said earlier Eagles have the trade currency to land them if both nominate the Eagles.

I feel Cogs will stay a Giant and Kelly will be an Eagle.

Does it matter? Clearly a very real friendship.

You need to work on your research.

O Allen isnt undersized for a forward. Drafted at 18 and 191cm. Still listed as 191cm but is now as tall as McGovern and training as a pinch hitting second ruck.

Waterman is the 3rd tall at 191cm which is the same height Darling is listed.

Bailey Willims at 198cm is a mature bodied ruck / forward who is showing he is a really strong overhead.

Eagles list is stacked with talls and they seriously have their kp needs covered. Something the Eagles are very good at. Not so good drafting and developing mids.
So if they give up a quality tall to land Cogs they certainly have the depth to do it.

Have you seen any reports on the 2019 draft atpit? Read somewhere that its mean to be reasonable... so who knows maybe Geelong take that...but I suspect they would prefer 1 pick much earlier. Im not sure what happens if both sides again can not reach an agreement but it will not be ideal for anyone.
Will WC have the cap room for both... something in the range 1-1.5 range

Interesting interpretation on who was playing silly buggers. Unless a big fall is going to happen to WC or a big rise in position to Freo ... there is minimal difference between 2018 and 2019 for Kelly. Yes OOC but when he only wants the side that finished on top then the PSD is really a nogo. I do think some sort of agreement will be reached ..in no ones interest for it have a meltdown over it .. what that will be ..? we will have to see.

FWIW Brander is contracted until the end of 2021. Safe to say he's part of our long term plans.
Interesting if he'd fit ours.

The fact he has a background in our academy just means Emma Quayles background interviews would be easier if we were considering him.

He has talent and a bright future but we took Briggs last year and Idun as a long term project.

With Flynn approaching crunch time 3 years in, and seemingly coming along nicely, a tall forward may not be a priority anyway.

arhhh narhhh. He is not a fa.

The point being that Freo supporters depending upon West Coast having to utilise a first-rounder in order to secure an uncontracted player, are kidding themselves.....Once Kelly's contract lapses then anyone can nab him for free.....Which is why the Cats should have cashed their chips in when they still had some....These days it's all about the players preference & choice.

Regardless....If Kelly goes home to W/A, then it won't be to Freo, who already have the Hill brothers....And nor can I see Coniglio preferring Freo over West Coast, if he also were to return home.

Freo posters hoping that the cost of Kelly will be too great to disallow West Coast from signing Coniglio are deluded.....One does not preclude the other.

No they cant he is not a FA. Coniglio ..if WC are willing to spend is rfa and they get him just for money... Kelly will have to be a trade of some sort

No.....Once his contrct runs out, then he is essentially a free agent thereafter.....Albeit an uncontracted one.

West Coast can just pick him up, once the end of November rolls over & he elects not to nominate for the draft.

Some of you guys need to catch-up & pay more attention to whats been going on these past 2 years or so.

Nonsense.

Not in the slightest. Unless the Cat's delist him, and they wont do that when he has trade value.

If he doesn't re-sign a contract then they'll have zero choice but to delist him....And the West Coast can pick him up the same way Carlton picked up Bugg….By having him not nominate for the draft.
