.... and always fun to watch the Filth go down.

Would be no bad thing to see that every year TBH.
Adding Beams - they'll need more than a couple of injuries not to win it all this year unfortunately.
An undefeated season followed by a couple of early minor yet game ending concussions on GF day to see Eddie and family cry on air will really invigorate the nation I think.

Who joins them on GF will be interesting. There are a few candidates which we might be on the list of if everything goes right.
- Hayward and Florent improve again - but we have confidence in the troops to rest/drop them when needed.
- Naismith returns and wins first use for JPK, Parker, Hewett, Heeney, two quick guys,
- Rowbottom or someone else tough, quick and good at running link up play grabs KJ's spot - or a KJ renaissance.
- Melican, AA both fit and fire - Reg does Reg stuff one more time
- Clarke blooms in the Hanners role (I'm assuming a fair upgrade on 2018 Hanners)

Quality post!

Wish we could make it so. The combination of nature and nurture meant that even as a little kid I had a strong antipathy to the Filth. The period of 59-89 was the golden era of GF Filth Failure.

I have never forgiven Sheedy for his shameful role in bestowing a premiership on the Filth in 1990 nor St Scum for choking in the 2010 drawn Grannie and not bothering to turn up for the replay.

Went to school with Dave and his brother. Both excellent athletes, their father played test cricket for Australia. Where has he moved on to?
Somewhere in North America where his wife has found a great job.
I think I will say is that we didn't seem to have the bullshit with injuries when he was with us.

Nothing wrong with this, wish Sydney were doing the same thing.

Hawthorn are playing a practice match against Carlton on Thursday and their players are prioritising the practice match rather than AFLx.

Probably because a practice match will be more use in the actual season than a tournament where the rules are made up on the fly and the game itself doesn't actually resemble the footy that premierships are won on.

Chippety chip chip highlights v Eski.

You can't be serious.

The above was to demonstrate what Lloyd can do when he's let off the chain and not banished to the back pocket as the designated kick-in specialist. Notice his gut running and bullet passes through the corridor when no other Swans would dare do that. That was actually a bit of a regular occurrence for Lloyd before he was forced into a more defensive role.

But let's not get into this because then I have to complain about Horse and god forbid. We've also done it to death so I don't see much point in re-hashing it.

I don't think we have done the "it's Horses fault Lloyd can't kick over a jam tin".

Don't make me add Tolstoy to that list. :p

Hey sorry for the interruption but is Nick Blakey with the hype on SC?
Luke Parker spoke highly of him on SEN

He'll probably get picked round 1 and play many games but I don't see much scoring from him. Especially if he doesn't play midfield.

I have been watching a few Adam Goodes highlights the last hour or so and I have forgotten how much I miss seeing him in the red and white. A truly spectacular player in what he could do. I would kill to have a 25 year old Goodes in the team right now.
This.

So much this.

this Eddie Betts comment is an interesting development, same people who carried on about Goodes pointing the girl in the crowd out wonder why this happens..

That girl would have grown up to become someone who comments things like what was said about Eddie Betts. Goodes gave the girl a tough but very required lesson. She's probably a much better person now than what she would have been if it never happened.

I just meandered over to the Hawthorn board (I’m OK, just a few cuts and bruises and mild symptoms of PTSD) and wowee I thought we were bad when it came to Mitchell. They are over there slamming Burton for making perfectly fair comments about his trade situation. You’d swear he never played for them..
