Crows to face Power in U23 trial game at Thebarton 23/2/2019

I have the fibre to the home version.
I was going through a provider called AusBBS, with really good customer service and up until a few weeks ago, speed test usually ran about 21 Mbps down.
Then 3 weeks ago I get an email alerting me I’m with Southern Phone. Well my 25 Mbps service now averages 10Mbps and lots of nothing loading for long periods They are impossible to contact outside weekdays. 9 to 5. Anyone got a good provider?
I have FTTH and have been with Adam internet, skymesh and now Vodafone. I have to say that Vodafone is pretty good. Close to 19-22 mbs (25mbs plan) almost all the time. Cellular back up and $58 for unlimited data.

That’s pretty good I’m paying $65.
I’m probably locked in but I never agreed to anything with Southern Phone but they must have bought out AusBBS. Not sure where I stand on this one.

Aussie Broadband is one the best, I'm on FTTN sadly, but never had a drop out or slow downs and I download and play alot online.

I rate you Jumbo but i've never been a great fan of brouch.....of Mrouch im definately a huge fan but Geez.......better than Patty??????

He has to get three to four years of uninterrupted play in and that is what I am saying. If he keeps getting injured, he will be another in a long line of couldavebbens who never reached their potential

On Hartigan v Keath, I think the rule changes make it more likely we select Hartigan

Yesterday our defence looked pretty brittle to centre clearances.

We have been supporting our defence with extra numbers back more than any other team. We can’t do that this year.

I can easily see the selectors going for the better defensive player which is definitely Hartigan.

And getting the ball clear of your D50 should be easier with the new kick out rule. So Keath’s better ball use is a bit less of a factor.

Add that to Harto’s incumbency and I think its likely he gets first crack.

Thoughts on the game:

Adelaide played the more difficult-to-execute game style.

We push up when defending to try to cause turnovers around the middle of the game. One mistake in positioning and the opposition are out in space.

We keep possession by foot and try to unpick their defence with our movement with and without the ball. One misplaced kick and the opposition are out in space.

Port Adelaide my impression is that they are mostly waiting and pressuring to try to force a mistake then looking to run into the open space. I don't watch often enough to be too confident about what they are trying to do.

When we were fresh and composed the game was on our terms and we looked like we would win easily.

When we got tired, and when we relied on top-ups, we made mistakes and got overrun towards the end.

Our defence looked very brittle to Port's centre clearances. It was probably personnel as much as anything so unclear how much we can read into it. We can't support with numbers back this year due to 6-6-6 so it's definitely an area to watch.

Overall - I like how we play. We need continuity for everyone to be on the same page with our difficult-to-execute game style. With a good injury run and good seasons from Talia and Hartigan I think we are in for a good year.

Just realised that the Crows play the Power next Saturday in a JLT game.

Should be a fascinating game and will give an insight as to where Pyke intends to play certain players for R1 like Fog and Milera and who may the other small forward be to keep Eddie company.

Port like to bring their A game to any match against us so Im not too sure much value can be taken by the result other than if we win great, but if we lose maybe move on. Its the 2nd JLT where it will be closer to our R1 selection which will carry the most interest for me. We will be playing to win this for sure.

Thoughts on a few players:

Stengle - very dangerous with the ball, has everything to be a very very good small forward. Needs AFL average fitness and defensive pressure. Could easily play and play well this year.

McAdam - shame he didn't have a clear pre-season. Will help balance our forward line. I am hopeful for a glorious mid season debut like Charles and Greenwood before him.

Jones - overthought it with the ball. Not going to read too much into it. Showed nice movement off the ball and applied pressure.

McHenry - wins contests, composed in traffic, uses the ball well. Maybe favourite for small half forward slot in round one?

Fogarty - still some way off AFL standard as a forward in a top 4 team. Will get games for his development.

Doedee - class above. I like how he made a conscious effort to play on as quickly as possible after each intercept as that's something he wasn't doing in previous years.

Gallucci - had his traditional slow start to the year. Is so powerful in the gym that he could be in Ninja Warrior, according to Sauce

BCrouch - didn't get injured :thumbsu:

Brad Crouch is a huge talent and he is a pretty major factor in our premiership chances, as are a few other players.

It does take a lot of luck to win a flag for sure.

First one we won without Roo and Modra, two AA's who everyone would have said were more than critical. Even essential. But we did it.

It just doesn't come down to one player.

Love Brad Crouch. Loved Modra. Won two flags without Modra.

I do agree that Brad Crouch is a really important player for us, and if he has a great season I do believe we'll go far (barring of course other injuries to equally as critical players), but lets not kid ourselves. Matt Crouch is pretty important. Sloane. Tex. Eddie. Jenkins. Talia. Smith. Laird.

Does anyone recall the last grand final we made? Was it all the Rance, Martin, Reiwoldt show? Or some other guys stand up?

We've won flags without our AA stars. We've been beaten by teams where their "stars" have had so, so games.

It just doesn't come down to one player.

Ever.

If our chances of winning a premiership rely on Brad staying on the track then we are toast......you really should change your username.

just being realistic, without Brad we can't win it.
Our mids are good but with brad we become great.

We know what we're gonna get from our frwd and defence it wont change much.

NBN is a ******* disgrace. Worst on ground for mine. Been complaining about it for 2 months now. Continually drops out for 10 mins every 2 hours. Had cable before with 100 down 40 up, never an issue. NBN Pathetic. Lift.
Just wait until the world moves over to 8K video and upward. We'll see how tolerant people are of the Liberal party's fraudband when we are stuck in a technological ghetto and can't have the nice things other developed countries take for granted.

Bicks thoughts on Jones game

**** me this Jones kid has some serious wheels. There was a part of the game in the 3rd I think it was where the ball spilled loose to a Port defender on the D50 wing, and this crows player cam flying across the tv screen to contest. Dragged it in unfortunately and got pinged HTB, but my god was he quick, talking like CC top speed quick.

Exciting to say the least.

They carved us up with running link up play through the middle and we couldn't get near them. Equally they pressured us into nothing kicks when we had it.

Our clean short kicking game of Q2 disappeared with the extra pace on the game

It's good to see that even among the youngsters coming through, our midfield structure, pressure and defensive positioning/running is just non-existent. Played EXACTLY like our senior 22.

Not sure what Godden is now bringing to the table, but our midfield tactics still sucks ass right across the board.

It’s going to be 40plus and it’s in Pirie, can’t see much coming out of the game besides heat stroke

Will be 43-45 in pirie. Dumbass stupid to be doing anything but trotting around. Game should be rescheduled, if not cancelled.... or Port could finally get into some heat training.

Lets hope both the Crows and Power come to some agreement about shortening the quarters and increasing the breaks.

A larger bench too.

those midfield tactics have got us 46 wins in the last 71 games.
