Sitting here at work typing away with 70s playing on spotify and Best of my Love by The Emotions comes on. Hang on, I've heard that somewhere else. Then it comes to me, Mariah Carey and Emotions. A quick google tells me that the writer of Best of my Love actually sued Mariah and C & C Music Factory of it. They of course denied sampling Best of my Love.

They don't sound alike but similar lyrics in D'yer Maker by Led Zep and Every Move You Make by Police

(Zep. >>>)
Oh oh oh oh oh oh
Every breath I take, oh oh oh oh
Oh, every move I make
Oh, baby please don't go

Not a song, but I have Words by Missing Persons on my playlist and this album cover comes up with it. Released in October, 1982. Look familiar to anyone?

From 5:30 on 'Matty Groves' [1969] there is a drum bit leading into a guitar solo which sounds a lot like 'Jump Into the Fire' [1971] with drum solo leading into guitar solo at 5:08 - guitar [before the drum solo] at 3:36 is similar too

The verses of I Said Hi sound a bit like the verses of Let Her Go by Passenger

Don't Stop by 5SOS and Nightwish - Storytime.
Wa Wa Nee - Sugar Free vs Depeche Mode - Just Can't Get Enough.
Grouplove - Ways to Go vs Roxette - The Look.
Ellegarden - Alternative Plans vs Japandroids - Near to the Wild Heart of Life.

Where's Wally theme song (the lines "Where is Wally?" "Where is Wally?") vs PATD - Boys Will be Boys (when they sing "when I say shotgun, you say wedding. "Shotgun wedding, shotgun wedding."

The Polyphonic Spree - Soldier Girl vs Frank Sinatra - My Way of Life.

Oh, and Super Mario World Overworld 1 vs Ry Cooder - Get Rhythm.

A little too similar? Forget that, how about virtually a direct copy?

From 1974 - keep that in mind.

There's no need to even post the other song in question.

Took a while for me to keep up but eventually got there.

Yep.
Agree though I prefer the other one.
