Who do you fellas like for the Cup?
The group stage format is a round-robin, where all ten teams play each other once, in a single group. This means a total of 45 matches will be played, with each team playing a total of nine matches. The top four teams from the group will progress to the knockout stage. A similar format was previously used in the 1992 Cricket World Cup, though that tournament featured nine teams instead of ten.
England
South Africa
India
Australia
New Zealand
Pakistand
Bangladesh
Sri Lanka
Afghanistan
West Indies
Straight off the bat if I were to guess who the final would be between gut feel says India vs England. India, like many would be my pick to win it but if it's on Home soil in a one off, the Poms could pull it off. South Africa obviously a very strong candidate as are the great Kiwi's who were upstaged on home soil last time around in the final { Bloody beautiful }
We had an epic encounter in the group phase with the Kiwis where we almost pulled off a stunning, improbable come back getting bowled out for 151, but had them on the ropes as they conjured out a victory with 9 wickets down. Pipped us by a nose. This time around however I don't have much faith in us. Remarkably we've managed to win 4 of the last 5 world cups, we are the best. We can be forgiven for not being at the best of our abilities. You can't stay on top forever, but * we've been done a darn good job. We're still Australia and could be very dangerous if we bring our A-Game, but not feeling the vibe this time around.
What are your early leans and teams you think can cause a stir or two?
Go Aussies!
