A number of Big Footy members may be familiar with the Football Statistics section within the Australian Football area of Big Footy at the top of the forums page. Within Football Statistics there is a thread titled Stats observations, which initially started out with the title "Post 5 random (obscure) stats". I thought I would try launching a similar thread in the cricket section. People no longer post 5 stats in the Football related thread each time they post and I am not going to stipulate that people should post 5 cricket stats each time, but here are 5 obscure cricket stats to get started.
1) For all first class matches he played throughout the 1930s, Don Bradman had a batting average of 100.07. This is made up of 218 innings, 27 not out, 19114 runs and 77 centuries.
2) George Giffen and Mike Procter are the only players who have achieved over 5000 runs and 500 first class wickets in two separate countries. Giffen has 5769 runs and 511 wickets in Australia and 5621 runs and 502 wickets in England. Procter has 7203 runs and 569 wickets in South Africa and 14733 runs and 848 wickets in England.
3) Dennis Lillee has a lifetime batting average of 141 at Lord's. He played 5 first class innings there with 4 not outs and made 120 runs, an aggregate boosted by his Test innings of 73 not out in 1975 and 40 not out in 1981. Lillee also played two undefeated innings of 16 not out and 5 not out at Lord's in one day games.
4) The highest score in the world at any level by a woman is 427 not out by Lizelle Lee, a South African playing for Kei Under 19s vs Mpumalanga Under 19s in 2010-11. Lee played one Test for South Africa in 2014.
5) All told there have been 140,348 pages of Wisden Cricketer's Almanack (Up to and including the most recent edition, Wisden 2018).
