If Ollen and Petch do as well in their careers as I think they will we'd have made out like bandits in that trade with GC.

Shepps a bit of a quiet achiever. Worth much more to us than others.
I’m not going to judge him off one JLT game but sheesh he was shite yesterday. Laughably bad. We clearly did the right thing by sticking to our valuation of him. Geelong will regret not taking our offer. They probably could have walked away with a combination of Hill, Valente and Williams on top of Clark (who looked awesome against us).

I can see us paying decent but not silly money to Sheppard- he is an Eagle through and through.
I suspect something 650k ish might just get it done. I think he will be keener to have another tilt and not as worried about 50k

I'm not at all suggesting a flanker should clear 7 figures. Someone else pulled that number out of thin air. Just offering some possible comparisons.

I would rather screw Geelong over to get Jordon Clark in a few years than waste it on Kelly.
Kelly was important when we thought Gaff was off. Our 2 second rounders as max for Kelly this year. Glad we held firm but not so much based on Kelly’s JLT form - I expect him to play another great season at The Cattery. He was not worth mortgaging the farm for.
