I really support the post of Jeremias. If anyone gets the struggles footballers and young men have in front of them it will be this bloke. He doesn't have the inherent indiginous aspect to his work but I have watched this man be ridiculed from one side of the country to the other and persist. Credit to him and long may people who have failed and got up off the canvas repeatedly be given the opportunity to pass on their specialist skills to those coming behind.
We get the Fitzroy Stars which is basically an indigenous club so we need to invest heavily there. We do, but our zone is exclusively that of the Northern Knights in the TAC (ie. the Northern Football League). That's how we have first rights on Ethan Penrith and the Wild brothers. That being said, the indigenous population in each state is somewhat different as well.
WA teams split a state, albeit with caveats as you mentioned. Some of the Victorian clubs have split up all of NT (which is about 30% indigenous), while North Melbourne have all of Tasmania and half of the Western Jets (probably the most bountiful area for first-gen Aussies from non-English backgrounds).
The AFL usually get an economist involved in these kinds of moves, so I'm sure once you look at the population statistics you start to see why each club got what they did, but I get the feeling those with a territory advantage will see larger benefits over time.
I'd push for that to be rookie draft only (or 5th round onwards/Cat B if they abolish the rookie draft).
If I were the elders, I'd have a few more issues with an academy program that abbreviates to 'NGA'.
The Tiwi Islands has a (mostly indigenous) population of 3,000, while all of NT has an indigenous population of about 62,000.
Essendon also get the Calder Cannons zone. Remember, one parent has to be born overseas in a non-English speaking country for them to be eligible, so it's not like everyone can just go and grab the kids of Italian and Greek ex-pats, mostly because they're all in their 40s.
North got the metropolitan part of the Western Jets, while the Dogs got the rest. Pretty sure the rest follows TAC zones.

22 disposals, 8 tackles, working up and down the ground in patches by the look of the stats.Sunny Brazier kicked 2 goals & named in best players in Northern Knights' 5 point win over Bendigo Pioneers tonight.
Not a bad idea & don't call me shirley.just take him for the name alone, shirley?
If it's anything like his last 20 games of footy I'd suggest he was swapping between midfield and forward roles. I'd be interested to see him get four quarters on the ball. The boy has some talent, but his work rate can be a bit inconsistent.
Is he still ours given he's now playing for Murray (I assume his family moved)?Wild also apart of the academy had a few kicks for Bushrangers today in a loss to Sydney

Way too early to make the long term call there, but is this a F/S or Next Gen academy member?I have been told we have an academy kid (14y) who is supposed to be head and shoulders above his peer group. I’ve been told we have engaged a former player to be his specific mentor. Son of a former afl player.
He spent a fair bit of time on the ball last week. Started the 2nd quarter up forward, but the ball was hardly going in there so ultimately ended up back on the ball.If it's anything like his last 20 games of footy I'd suggest he was swapping between midfield and forward roles. I'd be interested to see him get four quarters on the ball.

He's been racking up the stats, which is a good thing for a bloke with a November birthday. The talk was Cameron was the better prospect, and that seems to be showing up as solid. Is he still ours given he's now playing for Murray (I assume his family moved)?
Watching the game with commentary against gwv it mentions he is still a Carlton member so I’m guessing yes
