Sorry but when you're 1-0 with 3 subs. Have wasted numerous chances and have Lamela, Son and Llorente on the bench to get the 2nd, Wanyama to shore it up and drop Alderweireld you cannot blame the chairman. Bloody cop out to blame transfer activity.
Last time he dropped Alderweireld we lost 4-2.
Made his subs too late, don't blame his assistants, he's on the phone to them, he's calling the shots.
Both fullbacks responsible for the goals. KWP lucky to still be on the pitch.

Winks injured, Dier and Wanyama barely played in months, Dembele sold and not replaced, Sissoko overused
We clearly ran out of steam and that starts from midfield, Southampton had plenty of chances throughout the match, Redmond in particular had a stinker for them.
We need an overhaul in 2 areas, central mid needing greater depth and full backs being improved upon what we currently have
Yes Poch is frustrating not being proactive enough in games, but his squad is not good enough in two areas

So maybe buy new ones?

and yet if we don't fluff numerous first half chances that's all academic. Lucas, Alli, Kane all fluffed chances.
Yes we need midfield impetus and yes they got overrun however he still had options to choose from, and didn't.
He let the game drag on with good options available, he let the game drag on when they changed their shape.
He had options to choose from to secure the lead, or to extend it and chose neither.
If we go 1-0 or 2-0 down and look utterly out of ideas then fair enough, but I won't cop blaming the chairman when you're 1-0 up to bottom half sides and lose.
People tried to do that v Inter away, and it was as much horseshit then as it is now, even worse when it's used as a reason to blame the defeat on his inaction with Burnley and Soton.
You have a fullback who lets the ball run 3 yards out from goal, an England international btw. An England international who 18 months ago disrespected his club and manager. The manager chose to keep him.
We have our 3rd choice RB who is arguably at fault for both goals, we need new one's this summer, that wasn't evident last summer.
He had 2 CM's he could have used this match. 2 off the bench and chose neither.
Had 3 AM's/CF's on the bench to choose from to get a 2nd goal and only chose them once we were behind.
He had options, just chose to sit on his hands.
This is on the manager, and on our fullbacks and Sanchez.
