The Globalist Bankster Regime is pushing for Communism with its Marxist agenda!
Do you think 'Marriage Equality' was really about equality?!? It was a move from the Karl Marx handbook to undermine religion!
It could have been done with a Civil Union and avoided this religious bigotry, or just stripped marriage of its legalities for everyone and had everyone do it by Civil Union and Christians wouldn't have minded so much if they could still do the token ceremonies! It was about turning religion into a mockery for the satisfaction of the satanist commies!

IMO happiness is not the sole domain of capitalistic consumerism/possession based societies. The happiest people I have ever met were the villagers of the Milne Bay Islands, very community, family based and lived to us what would be deemed a meager existence.

Maybe some of these ignorant, self entitled Gen Y/Zers who preach Socialism should give up all the benefits of the western capitalism they 'hate' (internet, iphones etc) and go live a 'meager existence' for a while.

LOL yeah right.

Maybe, I can't speak for them, I'm a 59 year old retired baby boomer, I lived what I would call a poor/meager but very happy childhood and a reasonably comfortable adult life that I put down to hard work and prioritizing needs over wants.

Social media has turned into a communist state, when you stop and think about it.

It started out as a backlash against the established msm.

Everyone had a voice, we were all equal, and it was online utopia of open communication and idea exchange.

Now 5 men control the entire internet, and if you disagree with any of them or use the wrong pronoun, they send Kathy Griffin around to kill you and all your high school mates.

Welcome to hell.

We'll your a bit like me. Dad was WW2 guy who never spoke about it & rarely had a drink. He was blue collar worker & mum looked after us kids. He built our house & things, he was good with his hands & slow to rile, watch out if he ever did get angry, ;). We could have the odd holiday. up to Swansea or Launceston in the little green Morris Minor.

Their were lots of jobs in the 1970's when I started work. From all sorts of manufacturing to office work. No computers then. Adding machines & phones with rotary dials, then press buttons.

We weren't spoiled in our wants by massive TV advertising or wall to wall social media.

Many of today kids grow up being swamped by consumerism. They are pressured/brainwashed into wanting, but we see declining means of getting what they want. Designer clothing, mobile phones, computer games, a big house full of 'stuff' & a big 4WD, Going to parties, etc etc.

I do feel sorry for the younger set who find entry level employment difficult to get. Jobs are no where near as secure as they once were. Housing costs (buy or rent) have gone through the roof :))).

Its tougher now than it was 40 years ago.

Communism was quite popular in the great depression. Many struggled to survive. Few jobs & soup kitchens. No social welfare, which hardly keeps head above water now days. No wonder they hoped for something better.

Its easy to see why people look for some sort of utopia when they see such glaring inequality, & see bank managers who have no morals or ethics. You can see why kids can be morose, angry, anxious. Many just don't see a future.

Government & business should make a much bigger effort to find meaningful things for school leavers to do. Help them raise their confidence & self esteem. Thats a vital start.

Great post madmug, agree with all of it. I have 2 children 33 and 31 and 3 grandchildren 8, 11 and 13, all I hope for them is a healthy happy life.

Around the same time Nazism (National Socialism) became popular in Germany for similar reasons.

Yes, its easy for those with security in life, to attack the utopian vision of some young & idealistic kids who feel disenchanted.

If we don't give kids some hope & a stake in society, why would they behave & support a system that they see as unfair & biased against them?.

Its a case of don't shoot the messenger, fix the problem.

I'm talking about a socialist society - aka the death of capitalism - aka the dream of communist utopia, the type your currently seeing being pushed by the extreme left politicians.

No; I do not consider Medicare etc socialism - it is a government service and not at all what I'm referring to. We need to stop interchanging those words for different things.
You're not sure what you are talking about.

Who is pushing communism? Name them.

As for the point of the thread, the OP conflates different systems into a giant mess.
They're all connected and you commies can't hide it anymore! Am sure that A LOT of people virtue signalling about the 'YES' vote 20years from now are gonna feel regretful for the gullible fools that they are!

Thread is about socialism. From memory, you yourself have pushed for it m8. You've also "joked" about sending people to gulags!

On the other hand you have the hypocritical baby boomers who bemoan "socialism" yet were happy to benefit from things like free university education when they were younger.

Are you joking about communist social media and Marxist bankers?
I asked first.

Joking about gulags is not on.

When I was a kid I read One Day In The Life Of Ivan...and it impacted me on a cellular level. To this day I use the last bit of my bread to mop up every last scrap of food and condiment on my plate.

What's your point?
This thread is about expressing concern for those who condone fully fledged socialism. We have had numerous people who lean left suggest that such people are incredibly rare. Yet you appear to be one of these people. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Sure, I’m a democratic socialist. Which translates to the left of the ALP.

But I don’t see the point still.
