Not alongside brown Carlisle and Robbo he wouldn’t - can’t have 4 1st 22 players out of just 3 positions

We have between 4 & 9 1st 22 out mind you so still a lot

Not worried about all of them though. Let the positive thinkers cry depth and the negative among us lament our lack of top end....

Considering Brown and Carlisle aren’t playing and Robbo unlikely then I think playing Clavarino wouldn’t be too big of a stretch.

Pierce, Carlisle, Steven, Acres, McKenzie, McCartin, Roberton, Hannebery, Longer, Brown, Clavarino are all missing round 1 or under an injury cloud.
That’s a fair whack.

It is a fair whack, but...we never had Hanners so can’t really count him as a loss from last year. Clav has barely played so can he be classed as one of our best 22?

We’re not sure whether Pierce is definitely unavailable, are we? Or Acres or DMac?

I’ll give you Robbo, Jake and Stuv, allreally bad outs, but Browny was self-inflicted and we knew about that coming into the season.

Yes, it’s not great, but hopefully will not prove to be quite as dire as you make it sound. The JLT may be meaningless to other clubs, but to us it meant plenty - we needed those wins.

Agreed but if that occurred that’s still only 3 1st 22 players out. If all our rucks were injured you wouldn’t say we’re without 4 1st 22 players as we’d still have 21 1st choice out there

Doom and gloom / Carlisle out is a big loss , Roberton out is a big loss.

A part from that no big deal.

McCartin out will not effect us to much , he hasn't really been setting the world on fire.

Steven will most probably play , Acres is back training same goes with Pierce , Acres , McKenzie

So if Steven can play and Robbo is cleared all's fine

Marshall just takes McCartins spot and Peirce rucks.

The problem is who gets dropped if Steven , Acres and McKenzie comes in

Great having a good selection of players to pick from.

Geary / Joyce / Webster
Savage / Battle / Roberton
Billings / Steele / Newnes
Kent / Bruce / Gresham
Membery / Marshall / Long

Pierce / Ross / Steven

Acres - McKenzie - Dunstan - Sinclair

If Robbo can't play - we have Austin , Wilkie , White , DMac to fill a hole
If Steven can't play Hunter , Dunstan , Phillips , Paton can fill a spot on the bench

and we still have Lonie , Parker and Hind

no problems

I am encouraged that with some adversity we won the two games. I know they are not for points but the indications are we are stronger. No Stuv or Carlisle either game. No Brown Game 2. Lose our only ruckman game 1 in searing heat. Lose the free kick count Game 2 40-14.

Over the two games some mid-range players stood out. Some that lost form in 2018 regained their previous standard. And the new and Year 2 players showed good potential.

We seemed to know where we can improve. We look more like a club that knows what it's doing The Robbo/Paddy situation is worrying but I think we have enough to step up should they be ruled out. I'm feeling ok....

I seriously want to bottle your positivity and sell it. Make me a fortune. I’ll cut you in on a finders fee. No equity though I’m sorry.

That’s a fair whack.

Carlisle possibly our best player.
Robbo definitely best 22
Stuv is, but I supect he will play Round 1.
Hanners best 22.

Then Brown who is best 22. But against the GC we should be able to cover.

Well you would not want both of Longer and Pierce. I think we actually do not have a real best 22 ruck even when everyone is fit. Though Marshall looked good against week opposition.
DMak fringe
Acres should be best 22, but is not rubber stamped yet
Paddy on his two JLT games is best 22. On last years form is not.

So saying we have 12 of our best 22 out is a big stretch. But yes we definitely have some good players not available.

Was in front of Joyce and Brown is suspended. Had nobody else.
Was he really in front of Joyce George? And unless i've missed something Austin is still avail!
For what it's worth though i do have high hopes for Clavarino for the future!
Paddy and Robbo haven't been ruled out just yet have they?

Looked like it in match sim. Clav was a walk up start given Brown would miss Round 1.

Austin yes, but has had groin and shoulder issues throughout pre-season. Has missed sessions.

I think we find out more on McCartin & Roberton tomorrow (today - Wednesday)

Just to help the discussions along - the actual injury list

My guestimate - 6 of best 22 from last year are missing. (Hannebery only replaces someone who would have been starting 22 last year).

I see 4 as reasonably replaceable - two biggest losses ATM are Carlisle and Steven (and the experience they bring)

He would have played. Has been very, very good in match sim all summer.

Genuine question,...how come he didn’t play JLT at all?

Edit: missed the injury post above.
