Analysis Stadium deals - what, how, when - why we need a new one and the SA footy paradigm shift happening

Spot the odd one out

a) Stormy Daniels - Donald Trump has a tiny penis shaped like a Supermario mushroom
b) Sultry Daniels - Keith Thomas, liar liar pants on fire
c) Harvey Weinstein - I never touched those women
d) Michael Jackson - I never touched those boys

Obviously a), everybody in the world believes her. The others, not so much.

Who gives a s**t. Go into the ground. Watch your team play footy. If you dont enjoy it dont go. Too much complaining going on. No one forces alcohol down your throat. Its voluntary. FFS you cun*s whinge louder than my grandsons.

No one forces this thread down your throat either bruv, its voluntary.

I really hope the club takes this further, but I don't think it will happen. It will be like the SPP thing where we came out with big talk only to backpedal a few days later.

We are still beholden to a master. Different to the last one, but a master none-the-less.

Until we have paid our debts, both real and imagined, we need to suck a shitload more eggs.

Does anyone believe the "17.6% upswing in participation" and "Adelaide will need 170 more ovals by 2026" announcement by the SANFL today was just a coincidence?

"Does the Port Adelaide Football Club want to tear all that down for the sake of a cheap beer?"

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

We were never getting a fair deal with these campaigners in charge.

How's the creativity. Probably these numbers are purely based on the women's footy.

However regardless it isn't the SANFL bringing kids in to play the game, it is the AFL.

Female numbers are thru the roof so that's why the 17.6% figure. The ovals needed are about right because if you are going to have the women's games in winter, and you are basically doubling the number of teams, then without lights, you can only play about a max of 8 games over both days of the weekend on existing ovals 2 kids length games and then 2 adult length games on Saturday and then the same on Sunday.

Adelaide Uni footy club used to have 3 ovals when they had 9 teams and then the last 20 years, 2 ovals have done the job for 8 teams, but they only play on a Saturday. So if you don't have teams playing both Saturday's and Sunday's, then you are going to need a lot of new ovals if the total number of teams wanting a game doubles by 2026.

Some will be small kids sized ovals with temporary goal posts, some will be full size adult ovals.

And crap beer from multinational arsehats.
Without straying too far off topic, the SMA (and other AFL stadiums) need to look at getting other alternatives rather than the CUB/West End crap that's forced on you if you want a beer at the football. You could get someone like Pirate Life in the stadium with a few bars around the place and charge $12-13 a beer. People that appreciate good beer would pay the prices and the SMA would still make a very good cut from it. The majority of people that have a beer at the footy would still drink West End and Super Dry.

There is a Craft beer bar at the Southern end of the Western Stand.

Does the girl participation thing actually help our hinder the SANFL? On one hand it will probably open the up to more govt grants etc, but on the other, will it stretch their finances?

People who:

want to be next to the footy or cricket
want to go to events/work/medical attention in north adelaide
want to go the the festival/fringe/car race/womad/tour down under

As well as the existing hotels, another dozen are in various stages of approval and construction, largely in the north of the CBD, including the Crowne Plaza on Frome, and the five star Sofitel on Currie. The SMA are going to have to get a multinational to run it, because luxury hotels that aren't part of global reward and supply chains don't really work anymore.

The SANFL on Tuesday night reported an on-budget cash profit of $689,911 — down on the 2017 figure of $810,765 as gaming revenue at the redeveloped and empty Football Park fell again.

The SANFL also delivered $4.3 million to its eight traditional clubs in a strong financial performance last year.
But the most-significant figures in the SANFL annual report presented to the league directors on Tuesday night was the confirmation of the SA Football Commission’s determined campaign against debt.

Once as high as $40 million — as the SANFL covered the red ink on the Port Adelaide AFL licence in 2010 — the league’s debt in the past year has fallen from $14.5 million to $7.3m. This is the league’s lowest debt count since 1999.

LMFAO!!!!

So they're making a $690k profit, and they paid off $7.2 million in debt, and also shelled out a massive $540k to each SANFL club!

So we're talking nearly $8 million in profit. From a business that doesn't actually make its own money, but instead leaches off of the AFL teams.

And again far too much money being pumped into a local competition that is nothing more than a feeder league but still tries to act bigger than it's boots.

What we need to know from this is what happened to the funds from the sell off of AAMI Stadium? Does this profit include that money?

If it doesn't, then there's gotta be huge questions asked about how the SANFL can take so much from the AFL clubs.
