A member of my extended family works for Disney and has a bit to do with this (albeit small). He was a bit pissed off that the original plan for all the teams to wear it was leaked, apparently someone from AFL leaked it and were sacked. He’s a total company man, so we butted heads a bit over this.
Me” The clubs jumpers are sacred, the fans won’t put up with it”
Him “Yeah well the Marvel team have invested a lot of money into the afl...what’s the big deal, the NRL did it”
Me “We’re not the NRL. I’d be disgusted if North sold our jumper”

Feel like western have let ME down too. Now he’s going to give me a ribbing next time. Don’t even think about it North

Get prepared, I believe all clubs are wearing one at some stage.

All clubs? Or just those playing home games at Docklands? Honestly they can get stuffed on this. The clubs that play home games at docklands bought this for the afl, and now they’re expected to wear the humiliation of violating their jumpers? Nope.

WTF is this s**t. The Bulldogs are wearing this round 1. They've sold their souls. We better not go down this route.

Good lord.

Somebody had to design this hideous abomination. Somebody had to approve it.

I can almost hear Noel Gordon on the radio trying to justify it. Nobody else would.

In our 150th year in which we are commemorating the history of our great club, and re-introducing the classic and timeless 90’s bounding roo jumper into our rotation, I would be utteraly gobsmacked and ashamed if North were to go down the same route. What a disgusting guernsey.
We apparently refused to wear the women's one at all, even in warmup, so I'd say we'll be right if the club has a say.

Club has confirmed that we do not have a Marvel influenced jumper
Happy weve learnt from past mistakes
I cannot believe the club would sell our soul like this. Crass commercialism at its best and an insult to the members. What? We aren't involved? Why not. How dare the AFL exclude us from something that will generate huge publicity for the clubs. Typical AFL - leave North out. I demand a Marvel jumper for our team!!!!!!

Copied from the Bulldogs board, because I like the writing and it actually made me laugh:

It's awful and symbolic of a return to type. We are dead set pan handlers, where's prepared to give $2 hand jobs for a bit of extra coin.

I am a marvel fan. It's just stupid.

Interested to see how Geelong goes this year. I reckon they will go backwards a bit due to a lack of depth. Just looking at their fixture, it’s quite possible they’ll be going into our Rd 8 game with their season on the line. None of their early games in Geelong are easy. Here’s how I see their start to the year:

1 - Collingwood @ MCG - L
2 - Melbourne @ Geelong - L
3 - Adelaide @ Adelaide - L
4 - GWS @ Geelong - 50/50
5 - Hawthorn @ MCG - 50/50
6 - West Coast @ Geelong - 50/50
7 - Essendon @ MCG - 50/50

Lose to us in round 8 and could well be 2-6 and season over.

Watch them now come out and go 7-0...

Maybe we can beat them down at the cattery, watch them regroup and go on to win multiple flags while we meekly roll over to them in a final by over 100pts.

Liked for the use of Pyrrhic Victory.

Dislike for everything else.
