I used to watch him a bit, but Trump Derangement Syndrome took over, just like it did with Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, Samantha Bee...pretty much every night show host (plus CNN and MSNBC in general). I’m not his biggest fan, and never watched The Apprentice, but the media bias and overkill is a real turn-off at times. Not everything in the world is his fault...

Joaquin Phoenix.
Trump doesn’t really do himself any favours though. It’s not any different to what Stewart and Colbert would do through Bush and Obama administrations either, it’s just more prevalent and easily seen now that social media is around.
It looks like it has loads of potential. I wonder if it’s going to be based off the killing joke in a way and show how he becomes the joker. Phoenix is a fantastic actor so I back him to do a great job.

It’s easy to make him look stupid when you don’t cover any of his accomplishments and spend 2 years covering a baseless allegation, and obsess over a mispronounced word or spelling mistake. And when he wins a second term people will wonder how it’s possible...

Well the report is being released. The summary was released and signed off by both Barr and Rosenstein - something they refuse to acknowledge, saying only Barr, and he’s a Trump lackey. Mueller and his team is involved in the redacting process - also being omitted in conversation. Now suddenly Mueller is in on some Russian cover-up too...ok
To this day, Trump still has an approval rating near 50% (I think 49.2% was last listed), yet how could he possibly beat the corrupt Hilary? Maybe screwing Bernie out of the primaries in ‘16’s election played a part...
Yes mate, there’s clear hallmarks of The Killing Joke throughout. He has that gaunt look about him, and Phoenix lost a fair bit of weight in preparation for this.
I very much like the approach of a seemingly regular person having a bad run of fortune and then losing themselves to madness, a la Killing Joke. This has an edge and darkness to it that I haven’t seen before except in the classic comics.
Phoenix is a magnicent actor, one of my favourites. I’m still a bit giddy this is happening, and haven’t shut up about it all day.
I saw Shazam this morning (which was excellent by the way) and on my way out through Crown casino I saw a middle aged gentleman finishing up at a pokie machine. I thought I would take it upon myself to inform him of this news, and said to him “did you know the Joaquin Phoenix Joker trailer dropped this morning??”
He offered me a dollar from his winnings for me to go away. I didn’t take the coin, but point accepted.
I love how excited you are about it glen. It's always nice to be able to see someone's enthusiasm shine through their posts.

Wedding is Saturday and we fly out on our honeymoon Sunday. New chapter in life, not much will essentially change, but can't wait.
Land in San Fran, then Vegas, Chicago, Niagara, Boston, NYC for 3.5 weeks
Going to be amazing.

I rarely watch WWE anymore...probably a good 15 years...but I still love watching this and Royal Rumble...haven’t watched this year’s Rumble though. Might have a crack before Monday.

Monday morning our time. This year it's in NY/NJ.
Basically the entire weekend becomes a wrestling festival in the host city - other promotions host shows during the week in the city so there's almost always high quality wrestling events happening.
This year's Rumble was eh. Not many surprise entrants which are what makes the Rumble special IMO.
Keen for Mania though, like you said it's a good thing for those who are more casual watchers. Getting three friends over to watch who either used to be fans or have never watched, as well as the usual crew. Should be good fun.
