I think the rule is that if you draft a Rioli you win a flag within two years - emphasis on draft :p

Western Bulldogs playing 7 home games in a row to start the season followed by 5/15 interstate. It's truly amazing that they tackled such adversity and went on to win the flag.

Club plays other clubs at their home ground, which also happens to be their home ground too. What a coinkidink

Essendon
2015 is the 48th consecutive season that Essendon has NOT started 0-3, meaning that Essendon has recorded at least two premiership points during the first three rounds of each of the last 48 seasons.

The last time Essendon started 0-3 was 1967

The chances of this happening (assuming all matches are 50-50) is approximately 1 in 600.

Given the current state of play and their percentage, if Essendon lose on Friday night, it is officially their worst start to a season after 3 rounds. Ever.

To think, even the top-up brigade of 2016 could get it done.

2006 Qualifying Final: Sydney def West Coast 85-84
2006 Grand Final: West Coast def Sydney 85-84
In addition, the very next match between the two teams, in R1 2007, West Coast beat Sydney 74-73.

And probably not quite as amazing, but in 2005:
QF: West Coast def Sydney by 4 points
GF: Sydney def West Coast by 4 points

Hawks have scored 87 points in a row in the 3 rounds so far this season, and 4 in a row if you count the last JLT match we played. Odds of that are literally millions to one. I think someone must have fired up an improbability drive in the vicinity of Waverly.

- In both 2016 and 2017, GWS beat Sydney 15.15.105 to 9.9.63

- In 2011, Essendon finished with 2217 points for and 2217 points against. in 2012 they finished 2091 for and 2090 against. So they almost had the same for and against two years in a row!

Don't bother explaining it to him, Interstaters can't comprehend something as complex as that.

It’s a bizarre argument. If Brisbane had eight teams all playing at the Gabba and the Lions got a run of games there but not all their “home” games should we sook too?

And round two wasn’t even at our home ground.

The year that we missed finals by the smallest percentage in history we were just behind WC

WC for and against finished the year as 1964 and 1858
1964 the year of our last premiership
1858 the year we were founded.

Ooh, the Premier that season had 1992 points for. 1992 was the year of our first premiership.

Hawks have scored exactly 87 points in each of their first three games of the season. This is the first time in history a team has started a season with three consecutive same scores.

Even weirder, they also scored 87 points in their JLT Series 2 game - effectively making it four in a row!!!!
