14 players with over 100 games experience?

If North don’t play finals then Scott is gone.

Interesting to see that we're not that far off that for next season. Assuming Hodge retires & Martin goes around for 1 more year & Lyons, Mcstay, Gardiner & Cameron play all of this year, we should have 13 players over 100 games experience.

Barring injury Harris will get there next year too (hard to believe he has played less than 100 games!).

Predictions they would struggle last year and needed to undergo a list renewal weren't really wrong imo. They had one of the most experienced 22s the last 2 years and barely avoided the spoon in 17 before landing a softer draw last year. They were reasonably lucky with injuries too.

It's hard to see them making a serious run this year, and as you say if they don't it is probably time to move on from Brad as he has been there for a decade.

Also I just got around to importing last year's Brownlow count so now that's accurate.

Pretty close again. Port a few extra young ones but a few extra very experienced ones. We will need a good solid team performance to get over the line. Need some good defensive running to not let them use the ball at will on the outside and we need to take our chances when we get them. Sooner or later we will drop a game because we have a bad start or dont convert.

Essendon will be hard to beat, but we've certainly beaten harder.

Wouldn’t read too much into those averages.
Yeah it's an oddity. The numbers are from the club websites, but they're not necessarily up-to-date (has Kade Simpson's been updated this decade?), and they're not necessarily all done consistently (like if they weigh them the day after an intra-club practice match it'll be very different than just after they come back from their Christmas breaks). We do consistently tend to come out pretty high.

I find the distribution more interesting than the average personally.

Weights especially are a bit pointless. Players lose a lot of weight over the year but even heights our club wedsite seemed to exaggerate a few years.

Plus height or weight isn’t necessarily indicative of speed or marking about.

Its interesting that the average experience comes out so similar given that the Lions have a bunch more 25-49s and Essendon so many more 100+.

(Apologies for not posting stuff the last couple of rounds - work sending me all over the world at present)
