This bloke is a sure-fire 250 gamer injuries permitting. Players like Stack are incredibly hard to find. He plays on the edge but remains so composed with ball in hand. He isn't just brave when the ball is on the ground either, already comfortable to sit under the high ball and has the confidence to fly for his marks even when surrounded by very experienced backs. It's like he has played with them for 3 years already. On top of that, he has speed and skill to rebound and create scoring chains. He seems to have the package, doesn't he? Generally you get one or the other when it comes to small backs, they're either tough and accountable but offer little by means of skill (Steve Morris type) or alternatively have the speed and skill but not the defensive qualities you need (Jayden Short). It is worth noting I think that when he is flying for those overhead marks he is mostly being brilliantly looked after by the experienced and team first defenders like Astbury and Grimes. Those players are excellent at knowing when to go for the mark or spoil and knowing when to protect the space for someone like Stack to leap into.

He's going to have some howlers flying for the ball and leaving his opponent on the ground but you take that for the other brilliant bits of play .
He's definitely got a bit of a swagger about him ,his cheecky grin at the camera as he walks into the rooms after the game had a touch of look at me .

In the 3rd when he spoiled the ball as port were coming out of defence, as soon as he realised Baker had it covered Syd ran off and provided the sheperd ( resulted in a goal). He certainly does T_O_O he has a heap going for from what we've seen so far. As long as he continues to work hard, something tells me he will be a special player. Our drafting, as many have said has been outstanding especially the last couple of seasons, given our ladder position. So many young players to be excited about. I'm like a kid in a lolly shop......;)

Funny thing is that style shepherd is more common in lower level footy than the AFL. The amount of times you see the guy give off the ball and assume his job is done is a worry. I noticed it straight away so hopefully he doesn't lose that out of his game. He literally hasn't put a foot wrong yet. Fingers crossed the club get around him and makes sure he continues to do the right thing.

Shedda is another one I notice doing it. I think the Nank will do it occasionally, when he's not trying to bury an opposition mid under the centre circle....;)...But I get your point Cotcho...
 
Anyone know who his manager is? I don't mean this to be a racist remark at all but are there any player managers who are specialists in managing indigenous players? I can't remember who it was but someone said that one of the great challenges with indigenous kids is when they start to make money, the extended family come looking for a pay day. Which to an extent is fine, family is family and being generous is good but it's a problem if the pressure is too great and the kid ends up blowing through everything. So when he gets a longer term contract and considerably more money, I wonder if we have any programs in place that would see him put money away for safe keeping. A portion in a trust fund that is inaccessible until he has finished his football career etc? You'd really hope so.

This is correct
Was only at Dimmas for a short period during the pre season but has since moved in with x Clarke

Couldn’t think of a better role model and home for him to be with either

Hit the nail on the head Muddiemoose.

Many of our other coaching and development staff may get high praise (and with good reason), but I can't stress enough how great of an addition Xavier Clarke looks to be to our group. The work he has done with our young midfielders and indigenous players has been first rate. Very underrated and integral part of our coaching staff IMO.
 
So good to see a player come in and go at it hard straight away. Yeah he'll have little impact on games at times until he's more experienced but the fact he's willing to fly into contests means he's always gonna create or save a couple goals every game and hurt some opposition. Very well done by the club on this pickup
 
Can see him being a tiger for life, already absolutely loves the club and he seems extremely grateful he was given the opportunity to prove himself
 
I am not sure who it was but someone posted very very early (maybe even before he was picked up) that Sydney would be the best of all our recruits when everyone else was drooling at the prospect of having RCD in the team.

Well done to that person.
