Great 1st half from the boys. Tabs has made a couple of errors but the melts over on our board are over the top. He's a solid player going through what every forward does at some point. I'd still take him over Cox when Macca comes back any day.
You'd have to be happy with Hogan's start surely?

Good grab Walters. Replay showed it didn’t hit the ground
So was it paid as a mark?
Here at the ground, it looked like Nichols signalled that it was high contact from Zac Williams. Then someone mouthed off and he added 50?
OR
Was it a mark and then he was held up on the ground for the 50?

He seems to be in career best form in terms of his marking. Bugger about the yips in front of the sticks, but that's fixable. Surely he is still an automatic pick in the side every week.

Taberner would be a really solid player if he could kick the ******* thing straight. He does well just about every time I watch Freo these days.

Currently Taberner on pace for a 175 mark (57 contested mark), 45 goal season, which would put him in AA squad contention, surely.

Has become one of the best contested marks in the league over the past couple of years (54 contested marks in his last 22 games, from the start of 2017), and seems to regularly play well when not forced to act as the second ruck too.

Freo was undervalued in this game. Betting line was 34.5 or something. I found that odd, as Freo have a pretty good line up when all their best players are in - Fyfe, Walters, Hogan, Lobb, Brayshaw, Matera, Hill, Wilson, Hamling, Mundy, Ryan..... It's a very solid group of players. When Sandilands and S Hill return, I think they can be top 8 material.

This was actually the part that turned his career around, he was forced get mobile and get involved!

How about just setting up goals and doing the team things!

6 disposals, 1 tackle, 1 one percenter, and 6th on the team for score involvements today. He's not really having a noteworthy game.

The main point is, let's not act like he is fighting the tag under the same circumstances as Dusty or Danger, because he's not actively in contested situations like they are.

Yeah but his actual ruckwork was garbage, and he was regularly out-bodied and out-smarted in ruck contests. It just took him away from playing forward, which he's clearly better at.

In general, people need to learn that marking around the ground while playing as the nominated ruckman has nothing to do with actual ruckwork.

Pretty much, good contested marks being pissed away.
Dropped another on the wing which rebounded straight down for a goal on top of the 2 sitters he missed. The next contest after the dropped mark was a half hearted one hand effort.

That is the whole point, do other things to get involved!

Make sure you let Grundy know that!
