yeh could be that. I think there would be a lot of pressure on him to be honest. Humans are funny, we make comparisons between ourselves and others especially when we shouldn't be. It's only natural. I genuinely think a rest might help him.
I think he’s fine gets plenty of it

It wasn’t the game plan that changed it was the execution.

Funny what happens when players hit up the right target and don’t fumble and second handle the ball isn’t it?
Spot on. Those who have been to training during the Bolton era would have seen this game plan in action & seen how well it works when properly executed. Kicking 100 points is a lot easier when this works. Of course when it is poorly executed it opens you right up & then players go back into their shell.

I was quietly confident leading into this game after hearing Crippa speak during the week. With what he said it was clear the players had totally owned last week's shattering loss.

Not for the first time we kicked 5 goals in the 1st quarter, but instead of dropping right off in the 2nd quarter, we held sway, allowing us to go into the 2nd half in control of the game.

Ultimately the game was won through our control of the midfield, with Kreuzer, Cripps, SPS & Fisher leading the way & having a far more dangerous forward line than the Bulldogs. Harry, Levi, McG & JSOS kicked 9 goals between them, while we got 6 goals from our smalls.

It is now quite obvious why SOS prioritised Harry ahead of Charlie in the 2015 draft. His ceiling is ridiculously high. 20 disposals, 11 marks, 4.3 from a player who is only 21, with only 20 games under his belt. What will he be doing when he has 60-70 games under his belt?

I was pleased for Levi today. I'll concede I haven't been excited by his inclusion in the team this season, but you can't ask more than from him than to kick 3 goals as back up to Harry, with 2 of those goals being absolute rippers.

The continued improvement in Gibbo is pleasing. Now that he is getting to play further up the field, you can see he is far more comfortable in himself. To give some perspective on the step from full time VFL to AFL, Kane Lambert, now a mainstay in the Tiggies' best 22, had 6,9,8,11 & 19 disposals in his first 5 games, kicking only 1 goal. Gibbo's 11,16,4,16 & 21 & 1 goal stacks up quite well comparatively. The change from part time to full time player can be quite a learning curve.

As has been the case so far this season, our defence was again superb today, particularly with the Bulldogs having more inside 50s than us. Our defence has become a real strength this year. It probably helps that players are getting some continuity working together, in contrast to the 19 players who spent time in defence for us last season.

Finally, I can't finish off without mentioning the ongoing class showings of Sam Walsh. He is just making it look so easy & we should all be eternally grateful to him for kicking that final goal & shutting up the media & opposition supporters.

Looking to next week, I don't think we should be looking at too many changes. I would be tempted to bring Stocker in for Polson & if Charlie is fit, a run in the VFL could be in order.

Amazing win and so great for Bolts, the players & the fans who didn’t throw the club under the bus last week to finally taste victory again.

Just a quick one since he cops so much stick from the armchair experts - still loving Dow’s development. He is clean with his hands, explosive, tough and finds it. He set up Walsh’s goal on the siren out of the ruck. His kicking improvement will come with experience, confidence and composure. He will be an absolute star!

Let's be honest, it was another two-quarter effort. We were pretty average in the second and third, the Dogs just couldn't convert.

But a win is a win! :D

They had 5 more inside pineapples in the second and the same in the third. Everything else worthwhile we Wayne Johnstoned them.

Stop licking cane toads.

Damn that question by Caro hasn't aged well. Shows how much she knows about footy. Just another headline chaser
she is as knowledgeable of the game as any going around - on and off the ground I reckon.........

That evasiveness Fish showed in traffic with the spin fake and baulk in the middle was simply brilliant...
Yep. He had looked off in the first few rounds but was absolutely outstanding today. Such a livewire!

One thing that gives me great optimism is that our rebuild seems to have captured a number of genuine X-factor difference makers (obviously assuming they all make it) - Dow, Fisher, SPS, McKay, C Curnow, Willo, etc. even when you go further down to the “hopeful” basket, players like LOB have very high upside if they make it. Absolutely key to winning a flag. Not much vanilla there!

Of course, that is aside from Mr Vanilla himself Sam Walsh. Hopefully the Carlton fans who begged for Izak Rankine and Bailey Smith are OK right now - and yes I get it, nobody still thinks that was the right call and it was only a vocal minority in the first place anyway - but I can’t help it and it still fills my heart with glee to reflect on those days. I promise it will hurt less when Walsh retires as a premiership captain with numerous Brownlows and Norms under his belt... ;)

Good to have the winning feeling back. Bloody beautiful.......it’s flowering sensational.....common baggers let’s build on this now!!
Don't know if it's my imagination but i can feel myself less tense in the shoulders and neck area. Keep winning blues, it's better than yoga.

Our mate Kane Cornes had to do the halftime summary today at Marvel.
Classic watching him squirm having to talk up Crippa and Samo and blues in general. Earned his money today did Cornes and he didn’t seem to enjoy it particularly much. Which added to the fun on the day 😃

more backpedaling than a dodgy panel beater.........

Please ... those saying Dow needs a rest and is not up to it at the moment. Have another look at his game - the number of times he did not record a possession but tapped the ball on, stopped the opposition, did all those 1%ers. And did all of this in the middle of the congested play was immense. He does have weaknesses and his kicking is sometimes not a good as it could be but he well and truely deserves to keep his spot in the team. He is definitely best 22 every day of the week.
