Lol ones an AA ruckman

Bellchambers is vfl quality
Silly post. Goldstein is far from the AA form that he once had. Bellchambers broke even in the hitouts against him and had an impact when he went forward. At the very least, the margin between Goldstein and Bellchambers is so slim there's no value in us offering him money to come across. If we wanted a depth ruck there will be far cheaper options than Goldy, who would never leave to be second fiddle at a different club on less money.

If you wanted to make a thread about spruiking your AA quality ruckman and hoping someone will pony up enough dosh to get you a first or a second in compensation, you're sadly 3 years too late.

You lost Leuenberger and topped up with Clark.

He'd add depth to an area that is needed?

Goldy's problem is he isnt much of a forward. Rucks out games and thats it.

Norths list looks all at sea atm. Traded Pruess for a B grade mid wasnt the smartest move.

Goldy probably still worth too much to pay as purely depth and the sideways move from Bellchambers to Goldy makes no sense.

Stick a fork in him, he is done. Doubt any team is desperate enough to pick him, and really has become a trade liability for North. They were better off keeping Preuss and just leave Goldy In The VFL.

Can see why NMFC fans are filthy on Brad Scott.
Yep. They should have traded him a couple of years ago for a first rounder.
He has no value now.

Boggling they got rid of his younger understudy and kept him on given the state of their list.

Did you watch Fridays game? There's very little splitting these two players currently. Goldstein form from years ago has no bearing on his current value.

Thought Belly was brilliant against North, best game I had seen from him in quite some time.

Went well last night bar the average first quarter

Work rate is as good as a Grundy type but doesn’t have the aerial presence
Goldstein is still in the top 50% of rucks in the league, but if North wants a 2nd round pick via FA/trade, why wouldnt the other club just target a Darcy/O'brien/Preuss type for less and many more years of service?

Because Goldy is a free agent so they wouldn’t have to trade for him like the others then in a few years time they can get one of those as a free agent

But Goldstein would still demand $500k + a year wouldn't he? Just seem like a waste of a spot and money committing to him for 1-2 years before his retirement.

North should've traded goldstein years ago, was worth close to 2x 1st rounders at his peak, then develop Preuss instead of losing him for nothing.

He is more value to north than any other team, Wont be offered above $600k from another club so will probably accept $450k x 2 year deal and stay at north where he will finish a 1 club player and a champion of the club

Only club where'd he be value for money is Freo or the Dogs - solely as a senior stop-gap while Darcy and English finish off their development for 2 years.

However Freo are already stacked for talls and just use Lobb in that role. Darcy has done enough of an apprenticeship for me, if he goes on to not make it, it's not due to the development path.

Dogs could definitely protect English, while he's an insane talent he is still a beanpole and still only 21. If he were my teams ruck I'd want him dual rucking until mid 2021 at least and then let him off the leash for the 2nd half of the year. I'd think this is the best option for Goldstein of receiving a contract outside of North - but unlikely they pay him the $$ he wants.

If those 2 clubs don't pay him I can't see any other club that'd bother. O'Brien is slightly older and has done a lengthy apprenticeship, and Marshall is also 24 this year.

You have someone better than Stanley as ruck that hasn’t been playing?
Push comes to shove we’d play the journeyman or take a cheap ruck like a Longer to stop gap until Xerri is ready
Stanley is ok but he’s not a top line ruckman

He will be found out in September
Goldy shits on Stanley at any age
Cats number 1 priority should be a ruck as the rest of the ground looks covered
Stanley would be a good 2nd ruck as the main ruck he gets exploited
McEvoy had him well covered in the ruck

Shoosh child. You have been found wanting.

Cats also

We already have 4 mature age rucks between 26 and 29 what would we want with a 31yo on the decline on big money. He will stay at North if you wanted to move him on you should have done it last year clubs will have little interest now.
