Question is, will it be the standard AFL hamstring of 3-4 weeks or the Essendon hamstring of 8-12 weeks?
Injury reports always come out Tuesday between 4 and 6 (usually around 5)
It might just be Crowy taking his time deciding on which variation of the phrase "conservative approach" he'll use.Not gonna lie, the fact it’s still not out has me concerned
The Age article today mentioned his injury. Not on the AFL site injury list, so either his leg fell off and he retired, or he's good to play this week.
We can rebuild him, we have the technology.Hamstring surgically removed?
From the Essendon website (VFL report):
From the coach: Jayden started really well, kicked a nice goal and got his hands on the footy early. He got injured at the end of the first quarter which is disappointing for him - he was probably in line for AFL selection but thankfully it doesn’t look like he will (be sidelined) for long. Hopefully he’ll just be out for a couple of weeks, and then can come back and plead his case.
Relieved. (somewhat anyway).
For VFL. Realistically for the Grand final.Available Round 18
dontildeath said:The group of the injured players - or players in rehab - consisted of Mutch, Stewart, Brown, Marty Gleeson, Zac Clarke (surprised at how skinny he is) McKernan and Laverde.
All we’re running at various paces.Felt a bit for Kobe Mutch running / walking laps. He has a rotten run in the past two years with injury. If he could get a crack at it I believe he would be a real asset in the seniors.
...
Laverde jogged and walked a few laps and, like Mutch. He joined in some light running as Brown, Clarke, Mutch and McKernan did straight line 100 meters running at their own pace and time. I was surprised that Laverde was running so well considering the problem that occurred on Saturday

Fit to move around at training and fit to play AFL are very different things. I can remember meeting some players who were out injured. They were moving better than me.McKernan running and jumping? Thought he was weeks away still

He was 6 weeks wasn't he?
They spend least fortnight doing stuff at about 70%.
Once they can progress to sprint efforts then they can play.
Shaun McKernan is only three to four weeks into a rehab program that was scheduled to be eight to 10 weeks long so he is still a long way from being available.
Scans have today revealed McKernan is likely to miss between 6-7 weeks with the injury
Maybe a combination. A layoff like that usually means time in VFL, maybe the media are including that?Classic EFC or Classic Meejya?

Laverde has a 2-3 week hamstring, which means available about round 10. Probably does a couple of weeks in the VFL, gets to the bye and then maybe a chance to do another hamstring after the bye (unless we're still super desperate for forwards and put him in the side early).
Sucks for him
