Trent Rivers now standing at 192cm, not sure if he develops into a genuine key position player but his main traits is his smarts/movement and decision making so I’d like to see WA use him through the midfield instead of down back.

Keiden Coleman putting on a BOG performance against Sydney in a top of the table NEAFL clash. Playing off half back today.

It’s been mentioned several times by many posters on the Lions board, that our NEAFL team is a class above every other team in the comp. Especially when there are so few injuries to the first team.

Do you take the nableague stats as gospel? Games I have seen they are often incorrect. Champion Data is far better

Think he may have been a better academy selection than McFayden last year

If the Swans and GCS dont make up at least 60% of the Allies squad, there is something very wrong.
And if they both win tomorrow, it should be at least 70%.
Tassie have been so over rated.
GWS are way behind both academies.
Brisbane are very poor.
And NT aren't even in the same conversation.
Short odds that won't happen.
Looking at the squad selected in 2018, it contains too many players who have not lived up to expectation but automatically walk in. What a load of crap.
I would back the Swans squad to beat an Allies squad picked from tas, gws, NT and Bris.
GCS should also blow up if they don't get plenty in.

Guess we'll have to pay up for him this year.

Interesting that he's been kept out of the academy team. Probably won't play in the Allies team either.
Don’t think 19 year olds or underage should play in the Allies anyway it’s the 2001 crops time to be exposed to the best as it’s their draft year

Blood Red, currently in the 2019 Allies squad picked in Nov/Dec last year there are 6 Swans, 5 Gold Coast, 6 Tas, 5 Lions, 3 GWS, 3 NT & 2 lads from the Murray Bush Rangers who must fall into the NSW category. Im no mathematician but thats roughly 30% of the team coming from the Gold Coast & Swans already and you believe it should be 60% or maybe 70% depending on Sunday's results. IMO selectors would need to look at a lot of factors before choosing the squad including the fixture. Im sure you have but if you look at who has played who the previous 4 games you will see the Suns have had a very good draw. They have played NT (18th - last on the ladder), Lions (15) a depleted Oakley (8) and were smashed by Eastern (2). Swans have beaten Tas (12), GWS (13) Dragons on Vic Metro/Country trial weekend (1) & Murray (14). Tomorrow Suns play GMV Rebels (10) & Swans play Geelong (17). In comparison the Lions have played Dragons (1st), Eastern (2), Suns (5), GWS (13) & tomorrow Dandenong (4). Im sure the other Academy teams would have similar stories but the win/loss column shouldn't be the only selection indicator. The other-way to look at it would be that a kid playing the better teams and performing well (even though the team has lost) has shown he can match it with the better teams / players. Sometime it's easy to kick goals against weaker opposition or get cheap kicks when playing a lesser team. I agree with your "it contains too many players who have not lived up to expectation but automatically walk in. What a load of crap" statement as some names keep getting mentions for games played years ago and not current form. Im sure when the Allies squad comes out (next week I presume) with the extra 20 players to take the squad to 50 it will have some surprises for all of us but I don't think 35 of those 50 will be solely from Gold Coast or the Swans based on the win/loss ladder IMO. If the AFL were serious about growing out great game all the academies would be playing all year in the NAB League.

I do agree, but Swans have beaten GWS, and the 3 in makes sense.
However, Tassie were well below Swans, and watching them throughout the comp, they continued to show that.
All teams can only beat the team that is in front of them, but I get some teams have a better draw then others.
Swans also seem to struggle due to Southern bias and Qld coach syndrome too.
2 of the Swans 6 are underagers, and there would have to be another 5 or 6 underage players from other northern academies too.
I'm glad there was the opportunity to play in the TAC league, but in hindsight, the Vics stripped their teams and didn't allow a fair comparison. It is now, "we lost because our best players have private school committments!".
And now the academies don't have the ability to play each other and allow players to show how they compare to others.
So we are left with the Sheehan, Vic coaches and Power selectors choosing teams based on the snap shot they see.
And of the 4 players at the Swans who are 18 and in the Allies already, 2 have played well below several of their team mates but can walk in and play in the trials.
Wins and Losses don't tell the whole story, just like stats.
Unfortunately, too many decisions are made that way.
How many Lions members deserve their Allies spot?
Is 3 NT players over kill because they are being compared to their inferior team mates? I have watched their games, and struggle to see a place in the swans academy team for them!
Tell me 6 tassie players isn't ridiculous!
They are well overrated!?

Sometimes they are atleast close but nope wait for the stats on footylive app which are offical champion data stats

NABLeague stats had T Green getting 23 touches v Murry. Champion Data (via Footy Live) had him get 37.... how do you miss 14 touches from 1 player!!!
