So the other WAFL clubs are concerned that if we make finals we could have as many as 17 AFL listed players in the team.

We have that many in the team because we don't have a reserves side so if we get capped where do the other players go to get a game? We approached other WAFL clubs about playing some of the B grade rookies in their Reserves sides and got knocked back.

Yeah because we're pumping teams week in week out, *sarcasm*
Let's face it we might not even make the finals.

Our best results have come with two or three top ups, plus Grey.

As the injury list grows and we're forced to go deeper into the supplementary list, the results will fall away.

Not because the ammos players are any worse than the young kids on our list, but because they’re all just not used to playing together. You could see it against Souths, most of the debutants were in the forward line and the forward play was pretty chaotic.

Didn’t seem to bother them when more than half of Peels “premiership winning” side were Afl listed players for Failmantle.

They changed the rules after so Peel got capped at 12 AFL listed players for finals....

Brady Grey one of 22 players invited to do medicals ahead of the mid season draft.

This may be a dumb question but what is the deal with Grey in the mid season draft? Do we get compensated (or does any team for that matter) to lose a top up player mid season...? Or is it just a tough luck type of thing? Bit different to the normal draft where you know months in advance... now players being taken mid season.

Imagine that. Going from playing in a team, to playing against them, and then with them again - all in the space of about nine months.

you are now my sworn aversary

I bet Freo takes him back and he plays for Peel against his former teammates (with his former teammates)
there’s a rule in place for the WA clubs that the WAFL players taken in the draft have to play out the remainder of the season for their WAFL side. It probably doesn’t work for us but would be funny to see Gray playing for us in the reserves and then playing for Freo the week after.
