If Swans have pick 1 then Beatson would be crazy not to pick him since he is exactly what we need right now, so much so that even Longmire and Beatson must see it.
The Swans should have told him to hold off until the national draft and they would take him as a F/S selection. That way we could use this pick on someone else.

Let’s look at that from his perspective.

If he nominated he likely gets taken by someone and his AFL career begins.

If he didn’t nominate, on the promise that the Swans take him in the national draft as a father son, but next week does a knee? Bad decision potentially....

So if I were him I would nominate for the mid season draft.

We have someone who was second in clearances of all draftees last year and he’s currently in the NEAFL. I hear Mills was handy in clearances as a junior, and he’s currently in the back pocket. There’s Hewett, who was a clearance specialist in the reserves, and he’s currently a tagger. Also Dawson, who was also a specialist at clearances in the reserves, and he’s currently running at two centre bounce attendances for the whole season.

Don’t assume that just because we have the right player that they’ll be used the right way.
I share your frustration!

Not if we promises to take him.

Are the Swans even aware our midfield is the worst in the competition? What are we looking at forwards for?
Because there's no AFL standard mids available?

AFL website saying "CARLTON is in prime position to snare Sam Lowson in the upcoming Mid-Season Rookie Draft, with the Coburg forward considered the most likely to be claimed with the first pick. " If we are looking, we may be too late.

I guess if we got a small forward it would allow papley to play more midfield. kyle is prob a good fit for an afl team but I don't think it is Sydney. hey, you know, that's just my opinion.
