Vegan protests in the city. Union protests in the city.

I feel like we're back in the 1970s.

Must find my plaid bell bottoms and brown platform shoes.

I had brown suede and leather ones. Me? A vegan? LOL I'll give you my porterhouse when you pry it from my cold, dead hands.:p

Thought I'd better post this here instead of the Non-Bulldog footy talk thread because of the political theme:

The times, they might be a'changin... just saw Mason Cox on Ch7 news presenting the new American Ambassador to Australia with a Collingwood jumper and mentioning about having Trump attend a Magpie game if he comes out here and get a jumper and become an honorary member. :eek:That just might switch my ultimate hatred from Richmond to Collingwood if it happens. No, not just might. It will!

In 2010 I was asked by Campbell Rose(I think it was) at a gameday President's luncheon when I was visiting Melbourne to contact the Obama White House and encourage the President to become a Western Bulldogs member on his scheduled visit to Melbourne later in that year, explaining my connection to the club and my support of him in Illinois. Julia was Deputy PM at the time, I believe, but became PM two months later. Unfortunately the President's trip was cancelled due to some economic problem at the scheduled time. Imagine if that would have happened. *sigh* :'(

Why stay in one when you run one?

There was an article in the local paper last week about how the cast of On The Beach were on Phillip Island in 1959 as a bit of it was filmed here. There were a couple of pics of Anthony Perkins :thumbsu:

Stone cold from Dame. Massive balls to pull up from the logo and nail it.

Hard for OKC to not roll it back. They were looking at a top 3 seed at the All Star break before PG got hurt and it went downhill from there and maybe that’ll be enough for them to argue that this squad is good enough to go further. They won’t trade PG, I doubt they trade Westbrook (I think there are going to be some teams who would pay through the roof for Russ that they should probably take and run, but the fan base loves Russ too much and I don’t think it’ll happen) and other than that no one has a lot of value. Adams would be good value at half the price but 52mil over the next two years is a lot for a guy who just got outplayed by Kanter. Schroeder is too inconsistent and owed a lot of money still. Grant is a nice player and would have some value.

My guess is they roll it back with the stars but they replace Donovan.

Still funny that Portland tried to tank against the Kings to avoid this matchup and they’ve wiped the floor with them and avoided both the Warriors and Rockets in the second round.

As much as I looked forward to last weekend, the first in a month where I spent it sleeping in my own bed (in between local footy and work commitments), I'm looking forward to this weekend, when I finally can stop listening to all those political ads and concentrate on Dennis Leary's 3 favourite things (Football, Porno and Books about War). I've been sort of following elections for close to 30 years and last Friday I haven't heard as much airspace on radio and TV wasted on Palmer, Hanson and any other political figure who thinks people listen to them dribble for anywhere between 15 and 60 seconds.

Liverpool had the player of the year, two golden boot winners, the golden glove winner, had the third highest point total in Premier League history and still finished second. Feel sorry for the Liverpool fans. If they lose the Champions League final it's got to be the greatest season without winning a trophy.

Pretty shattered but it's good to be in the hunt in the last month.
