Treloar was the equivalent of two picks 10. Probably the closest equivalent trade in recent past. Except Kelly is a better talent then treloar was. Beams to pies was pick 5 and pick 25. That equates to around two pick 12s. Kelly is better then beams.

What's this equivalent business? I seem to recall that no amount of picks in the 20s are worth a top 10 pick. The pick 25 thrown into the Beams trade is worthless, worthless I tells you!

Ignoring the fact that Beams comfortably had Kelly's CV covered at the same age he was also under contract. But yes, you will get more than 5, 25 and Crisp.

Its your perogative to say Kelly is better than any midfielder ever traded.

Given that in reality Geelong didnt invest years in developing him as an 18 year old then its difficult comparing him to players traded that were developed by the club they moved from.

Development is irrelevant to a decision. Gees you are really reaching with that argument. Because geelong didnt develop him west coast should get him cheaper. Yay lucky for west coast.
