Don’t know anything about Jones. But Cerra would probably be of interest to us being a Victorian and a midfielder to replace what we would lose with Kelly leaving.
Oh man, you are missing on Scott Jones. The agility of Rioli with the football brain of Pendlebury, guaranteed superstar in the making. While he's not a back pocket specialist like our reserve reserve ruckman in Meek, he can play forward and dominate game with his sheer presence.

Cesoir was being very generous giving you that option, I would take it.

Kersten back to Geelong? Let’s get serious one good first rounder should be plenty. If not then sorry moving along.

As at today our first pick is Pick 11. I’m quite confident that we will end up with a top 10 pick; prob in the 7-10 range. Pick 11 if we scrape into the 8. If Geelong want a sweetener then 2020 3rd rounder as well to push the value up a little. Not interested in us passing off 2019/2020 first rounders or 2019 1st and Cerra - please that is paying way overs. What happens with Ed Langdon will be interesting. I feel his value is a late 1st round pick. That could be used in some way to swap picks.

I think club's tend to try and keep it to just picks these days - makes it harder for fans to compare players than straight swaps. Can't see them trading Cerra in any deal unless he wants out and we get a "win" out of it. I would have thought you guys are relatively well stocked to cover kelly with parfitt, miers, constable even dalhaus and you guys would be more after a KPF with hawkins getting closer to the end. I'd do a 7+ pick and tabs for kelly.
Just feel Kelly isn’t worth that. Just wish Hill was fit. He’s the better option. I wouldn’t give any of the forwards as it benefits them, and we suffer

An out of contract Kelly for a #5 draft pick forty games into his career with two years to go on his contract and our first round pick. Hahaha

Let's say both clubs offer their new player four year deals. Cerra is a better player than Kelly for the last two years of that contract, then another four years on top of that, plus the first round draft pick.

If they were both in the draft this year Cerra is picked before Tim Kelly because he represents a hell of a lot more value for that draft pick. A hundred extra games of elite football is worth a fortune.

We've traded Weller and Neale for picks #2 and #6 when both are in contract, both would have gone for significantly less than that the following year. This is the following year for Tim Kelly.

Yes he is a good player, his clean hands around a stoppage are fantastic and will bring our outside runners more into the game but he is not a perfect player. I do not trust his field kicking. I listen to the commentary praise kicks from him that go directly to an opponent or pick out the two on one and kick it to the defenders advantage. If I'm coaching him I play him at the stoppages and forward but once the ball is moving he is tight on his man defending, I don't want him getting involved in the possession chain when we have guys like Langdon, Blakely, Taberner, Conca, Colyer etc.

I get it, they know he is gone and West Coast just won the flag, they missed out on getting Gaff back home and now WC will get another one of their players making them even better - well we better bleed the stone on that so talk him up as much as possible.

Maybe we do a separate trade here for Wylie Buzza. If you can get his eyesight right he could be anything......but may not be either...

how would Freo's 1st rounder & Brayshaw for Kelly & Narkle sound?
I'd be really happy with that.

I agree with all this.

Unless we're in the 'window' (ie recently played finals) paying 2 first rounders for a bloke who will be 26 by the time he pulls on the jumper is poor list management. At that age, they need to be Free Agents (Conca) or dirt cheap (Colyer).

First Rounders are gold dust for clubs in a rebuild. Giving away 2 would be mortgaging our future.

We need to walk away from this one.

Outside out the top 5, first rounders are extremely overrated.

Personally I'd prefer Cerra to Brayshaw but a trade of that nature is not out of the realms of possibility.
I wouldn't make the trade if it was Cerra, but would gladly trade Brayshaw in that scenario.

Plenty of good blokes around. Handy if they can actually play the game too...
Brayshaw CAN play.
I just don't see him as much more than a handy AFL footballer in the mould of Reece Conca

Andy is on the same projectory as his brother Angus at the same age. Remember he is only a second year player. Do you rate Angus Brayshaw ?

So, now we're trading our Pick 2 future Captain for a bloke who'll play 5 years for the club and who doesn't even want to be here?

We're definitely through the looking glass now.
There are certainly a numebr of ideas put forward that make me happy we don't let Jo(e) Public be list managers.

I disagree
I think Angus is a jet (except recently for my SuperCoach team), but I see Andrew as a different player.
If they were Selwoods, Angus would be Joel, while Andrew & Hamish would be Scott & Adam, with those 2 closer in playing ability than their star brother.
Angus showed some excellent signs early, so I certainly disagree

I'd be really happy with that.

Never going to happen.

Freo won’t trade a young first rounder, particularly Brayshaw or Cerra.

The Cats bargaining power is reduced this year because Kelly will be out of contract and has family reasons to go home. They kept him last year to have a player who should have been on 600k at 2nd year pay rate 100-200k.

If we have a player requesting to go east you may get them or the picks from that trade, but it won’t be the two above.

You will get our first, but not our 2020 first. We will need our 2020 picks for NGA players.

Kelly is good but I suspect he will end up at WC.
