Did what they had to. Umps in dry again. Martin, Prestia, Caddy, Ellis, Balta, Soldo, Vlaustin all great. Thought Soldo more than held his own. Great to get first usr for a change. Reserves had a good win. Rioli, butler and Naish all great. Will only be one change barring unjury. Rioli in for Higgo i reckon needs a spell. Equal 4th with more than half the side out. Bring on next week. Eci
Higgo won’t get dropped , would be menadue , and pretty stiff too

Probably the mist frustrating game I've watched us play this year. We were slow out of the blocks, were fortunate the Hawks couldn't convert their early chances, then struggled to put them away once they were 2 men down. Dusty put the Pumas back on today and played like it was 2017 again. Ran around with a spring in his step, his power seemed to be back to its best and could have finished with 5 goals. Hopefully he has turned the corner because if he can produce this sort of form consistently for the rest of the season then we become so much more dangerous as a side.

Soldo in the ruck gave us a different look. Nothing against Nank, but having our midfielders get a fair crack at winning clean clearances made a big difference to our ball coming out of the middle. Obviously needs to work on his ability to get possessions around the ground, but that is not his game. What we want him doing is giving our midfielders a even chance at winning clearances and getting the ball going our way, the more that happens the better we'll play.

Vlastuin into the midfield was a good move and he looked like he enjoyed being moved out of the back half and given some freedom to run and hunt the footy. Could we see it become a more permanent option now that Stack Houli Edwards Grimes Broad Garth and Astbury look to have settled in well down back. Having Tigga finally become the midfielder that we thought he'd be a couple of years ago would be a pleasant surprise.

Ellis is back to his 2014 gut running best. There are times where you might see him lagging behind but then you realise that he has just put in a massive effort moments before to just get to the contest from the other side of the ground. Whether he stays with us or moves to another club he is certainly earning his next contract.

Loved Tom treating Sicily like a bitch when he tried to be the tough guy and in the end it got into his head and in the last quarter he started making mistake after mistake. 3 goals was a good reward for his day at the office.

As for next weeks side I wouldn't be shocked to see us go in unchanged, but I expect there to be at least one change with Rioli likely to come in, while Naish and Butler have put their hands up. Castagna Bolton Baker and Menadue didn't have the same impact as last week against Freo, but they all contributed at stages.

People have rightly pointed out we haven’t really beaten anyone yet, but you can only win and win well when you do which we have under duress.
Sure there are a lot of big tests ahead but to be sitting at 6-3 under the circumstances is a great effort and has us well placed.
