First quarter there was some really good footy on display. The other 3 quarters were pretty s**t to be honest. Will have to be way better then that to get anywhere near the giants next week.

Tarryn Thomas is a star, everything he does is top class. More positive signs from LDU was a bit quiet after a strong first quarter but everyone knows he has to build a tank to run out games, like what I’m seeing from him.

Bring on the giants to see where we are at.

We lose basically every game ever going into the bye, so next week will tell us plenty. Hopefully they treat this one as a loss and demand a response. That's what it will take to get a win next week.

What was interesting today was how little we switched freom half back, even when there were opportunities to do so. At times, even when it was on, players didn't even try to split and make space deep when we had the ball wide at half back. It was always down the line to a contest, and either back us to win it or force a stoppage. Under Brad, I feel like we would always at least try to switch sideways and back and get the ball out the other side, and the down the line kick was the last safety option. Both last week and this week we look like we're playing a much more direct game under Shaw.

Thought we were OK without Higgins. When you lose one of your best players, you'd want to make sure the boys don't push themselves too much due to the interchange limit.

Looking at the form of the teams outside the 8, we're the only ones to win 3 of the last 5.
Our next 2 games will tell if we are any chance of a sneaky finals spot.

Strong first quarter. Slog afterwards. Credit to the skipper. Led from the front on his 200th and has actually been back to his best in the past month since returning to the midfield. Well assisted by Polec and Cunners. Solid team effort in maintaining the ascendancy throughout. Shaw = 100% record.

Considering Higgins only lasted for about 90 seconds, thus affecting our rotations, we butchered a few regulation shots at goal, and allowed the opposition a few red time goals, happy to take the 4 pt's and prepare for a big game v Giants next week. Great game by the skipper in his 200th, easily BOG, and hopefully Tarryn did enough for a Rising star nomination.

Not concerned at all.

Our best run & carry player went down in the first few minutes & we were playing in a swamp, and after quarter time Dew effectively gave up winning the game.

5 goal win, should have been 8-9 goals, but we did what we had to do in unusual conditions with unusual tactics.
