Congrats to both players.

Shows how durable Taylor has been that he was drafted as a 21yr old and has managed to reach the 250 game milestone - last year is his only completed season where he played less than 21 games. Draft him as an 18yr old, and if he as able to break into the team early in his career & he would have played 300+ games

Re-watched the sandwich game last week and there was Harry kicking his first goal in AFL footy. His running style hasn't changed, nor the class of character.

Born for the Hoops, it's been a privilege to watch him play these past many years. A genuine Cats star.

Congratulations to Cam. He's copped a lot here but he's a Geelong player who has stuck at it and is playing his part in our current good run.

Any player that plays 1 game has achieved something ... but to make 150 in an era where a lot of our picks have failed has been a very good return from CG.

And Harry .. how approriate that he , like his favourite celebratory drink , is not a standard whisky or beer man... he is the Cognac of footy players ..the top shelf but is far from the regular type.. a guy who can hide a ham down his sock , a man who can down 2 litres of milk without an issue , a man who can sprint the length of the ground after a post siren goal win ... 250 games from someone who has played such an important role for us in so many big games ...

If the guys cant awaken from a post bye slumber for these two then Im not sure what will ... Congrats to both of them.

H. is a 'different cat', that's for sure. But the role he has played in providing stability and nous down back since his arrival can hardly be overstated. To walk straight into senior footy in a contending side (after the devastating loss of Ego) and perform such a key role in defence over such a long time remains a huge achievement.

He stamped his arrival as a vital cog in our ongoing success by holding Riewoldt to a single goal in our epic 2009 GF win. His spoils and match-clinching mark across half-back with seconds left in that game are now the stuff of GFC legend.

Two All Australian inclusions then tell of how highly rated he has been across the competition. And his raking left boot, his sure hands in the air, and his footy I.Q. around when to take possession and when to tap to advantage have been a pleasure to watch across his career thus far. Along with the understated goal celebrations (so quintessentially Harry) and the quirky on-field moments (in his role as Jenkins' personal dietary consultant, for example), he has endeared himself forever to the Geelong faithful.

Resisting the urge to return home to W.A. on what would have undoubtedly been a massive contract has also played a huge role in ensuring his legacy at Geelong. None of us could have begrudged him the desire to head back after all he had already given to our club. But for him to buy in and commit his long-term future to the hoops back then was a very significant move, and a brilliant reminder of how much he has embraced the GFC over his time with us.

And his resurgence this year shouldn't be underestimated either. Plenty questioned whether he would be a automatic inclusion in 2019 after an injury-ravaged '18. He's now entirely reestablished as a vital cog in the back six, and that is a massive credit to his preparation for this year and his determination to not tail off as the end approaches.

In the end, being a two-time premiership player is a great achievement and due recognition of his massive contribution to the club. And there's still hope that the story on that front might not be done just yet...

We've had over 1000 players represent the GFC over our long history. And Cam Guthrie is now 80th on the list off all-time games played in the hoops. Furthermore, he's achieved this in an era when the club has been winning stacks of games and making finals almost every year.

When he first arrived on the scene, I was very bullish about what he might bring to the team. A position in the team as a rebounding defender with strong skills and good awareness seemed to really suit him. And he certainly showed some ability in that role across some big games early in his career.

It was then that his status as a utility began to be seen as a positive for the team, in a time where we were often looking to cover for deficiencies in certain areas across the field. Guth became the player that would be shifted from back to mid to tagger and back again, often having to fill multiple roles across the course of even one game.

After his first season on the list, he averaged over 20 games a season until injury caught up with him last year. Clear evidence that the coaching staff have really valued his efforts, and have been keen to include him in the senior team as often as possible.

I think his versatility and willingness to follow instructions have been highly prized by the MC, and he continues to be played close to the action week after week in a clear vote of confidence in what he brings to the team. I would have had his ceiling pegged higher, based on what I originally saw from/in him, but he has carved out a sustained career at the top level despite not progressing as far as some thought he might.

Having a better and more consistent season in '19 than we've seen for quite some time, and looks to be enjoying the improved depth in midfield that permits him to focus on nothing more than his role in the unit each week.

150 games is a monumental achievement in any player's career. And, given Cuth has been thrown around the line-up more than just about any player I can remember in the hoops, it is a huge credit to him that he is still carving out a valued role in the team week by week.

Congrats to the team oddball and the sworn foe of the American Psycho of the Cats board. They're both having great years and hopefully will help lift us to Premiership glory.

Well done to both players.

A special mention though to Harry Taylor. As someone else mentioned, after losing Egan there would have been a massive hole in the side that very well could have meant failing to win the 2009 and/or 2011 flags. Furthermore, his leadership and composure have glued the backline together through the transition from our immortal champions to the self proclaimed "misfits". He's essentially been there all the way, doing whatever the team required even if that meant plugging a hole in the forward line for a season.

Absolute gent and champion of the club.

One point made by CS I think is valid .. how often have we played good sides after a bye. Lets see us play at KP against the Suns after the bye a couple of times and we will blow that record to the smithereens ..

And credit to HT for really making his place in that D50. He really took the time I recall to get Blitz up to speed on the mental and reading and analytical side of the game - his note taking and preparation stuff -and its rubbed off well.

HT will never be on remembered for massive stats but much like Domsy - you'll notice his absence when he's gone.

A great player to have come to the club with the expectation to replace Matty Egan and he did so with aplomb. Made a one club player and stuck with the Cats in the face of better $$ in WA.

Has given the #7 a stout proper airing since Couchy and Benny G - and 11 more games will see him clear as the most games played by a #7.

Will always be favourite HT.
