Yep, nothing like the cats this year.
Firstly, we are currently 11 from 12 and a percentage of 30% higher than north that year, who beat up all the low sides before facing actual finals teams in the middle of the year (and losing them all).
They had the cruisiest start to a season in living memory, Cats had a difficult start.
So, no, nothing similar.

Let me refresh your memory, friend: 7th of September, 2018, Geelol versus the Dreamons, elimination final, MCG. You lost by 5 goals to a team who subsequently lost the prelim by ELEVEN GOALS, ending your finals campaign 3 weeks early. What a nightmare

2012: Finished 6th, lost EF, out in first week
2013: Finished 2nd, lost QF, won SF, lost PF, out
2014: Finished 3rd, lost QF, lost SF, out in straight sets
2015: Failed to qualify for finals
2016: Finished 2nd, won QF, lost PF, out
2017: Finished 2nd, lost QF, won SF, lost PF, out
2018: Finished 8th, lost EF, out in first week
Summary: Played 12,
First week results: Played 6, Won 1, Lost 5 - a stunning 16% success rate!

We were 2-6 at the MCG last year too. We're currently 4-0 there this year. The 2019 Geelong side is a hell of a lot better than the team who played in last year's elimination final.
