How many chances can Mendue get? What are they basing his promotion off... certainly not performance.

Connor Menadue

15 disposals, six marks, four tackles & six handball receives

“Played through the wing and a bit off half-back. Was really influential in his leadership and his directing, he’s playing his role really well, he’s playing really good footy for us.”

VS

Shai Bolton

25 disposals, 11 tackles, nine clearances & one goal

“Returned from the AFL, played inside midfield and was really pleasing for him to come back and influence the game, both offensively and defensively. He kicked a goal, but his 11 tackles was a feature, 16 contested possessions of his 25. He looks ready to bounce back to AFL level.”

Fraser Turner

26 disposals, six clearances, one goal, three inside-50s & two rebound-50s

“Continues to accumulate possessions at this level. Played through the wing and even a little bit of inside midfield during the last quarter—five clearances, kicked a goal. He’s a really nice player in the making for us.”

Mav Weller

22 disposals, seven tackles, eight clearances & four rebound-50s

“Continues to play good football as an inside midfielder for us…hard at it, hard to play against and his strong body around the contest had a significant impact for us. He had a great game.”

Broad and Menadue have been brought in to strengthen our back line which looked quite poor last week at times. Neither Weller or Bolton play down there. Turner can but has spent most of the season on the wing and has laid 7 tackles in 10 games so defensively isn't exactly what we need at this point in time. No doubt he'll get his chance this year if injuries continue, but I wouldn't be shocked to see him spending the year in the VFL and developing his defensive side to go with his ability to find the footy.

tugga can you open the Autopsy thread already so that we can start our melting 24 hours early?
I might just post in it myself for a while before opening it.

Crows have 43 listed players available.
Imagine if they lose?
Adelaide Crows board would be excellent reading.

However it won’t happen unfortunately unless Dusty magically turns into superman and our team follows suit. Lol

They are not "playing to lose" just bolstering the defence.
Makes perfect sense.
Rioli was fortunate but they probably figured four changes was one too many.

if its raining it doesnt really matter who plays. it will come down to who plays better wet weather footy, hack it forward, smart taps, feasting off dropped marks etc

Definitely not playing to lose, just conceding that this week is going to be tough to win so let’s try and stop them scoring more than they need to score.

I agree with you on the Rioli bit too.

Would have loved to have seen Bolton play this week but it’s not to be. Hopefully the St Kilda game after the bye.
