Rumor has it that Ryder has been offered 1 year deal but wants 2 years. Could be put up for a trade considering we have Ladhams creaming it in the SANFL waiting in the wings.

Could be a cheap trade for a club wanting some depth or experience in their ruck for a year or two. GWS maybe, GC or North. Who knows worth discussing i think.

Paddy is going at less then a goal a game and under 10 touches this year lol!! Port has 3 well almost 4 rucks to pick from all ready to play.show him the door port or risk losing the young rucks..

Very good tap ruck, suits 1st ruck better than 2nd ruck kf which he is playing now. Was some article claiming st Kilda were going to offer 2 years (2nd triggered by games or some such) a while back.

I hope port moves him on. We have lycett ladhams (dominating sanfl at the moment) Hayes just came back from an acl and Frampton.

Wouldn’t expect we get much for him.

Ryder's fitness is the issue. He isnt a 22 or 25 game player..

A move back West pre retirement?

Eagles could do worse than letting Vardy go and replacing with Ryder to partner Naitanui for the next two years with Hickey as depth. All three would need breaks to get through a full season.

Good chance at snagging a flag at the Eagles as well.

any chance that the 1 year deal is Port thinking about Grundy next year?

If his house didn't get broken into last yr wouldn't even be talking about this . That being said as another poster said gws seems a good fit.

I have no idea what the club would want but I wouldn’t expect very much.

For me it’s mostly about giving ladhams Hayes Frampton a chance to play.

A useable pick would be my stipulation.

Edit - I wouldn’t say he’s struggling with form. Form wise is ok. What we are doing is playing 2 rucks who both could be 1st rucks, so paddy’s sharing ruck a lot. The real problem from a port POV is that playing 2 rucks means Hinkley is refusing to play a second key forward when lots of teams play 2 or 3 and that is hurting us as paddy’s only ever been moderately serviceable as a kf.

What would Port expect to get for him? He cost them a bit a few years back.

31 years old and struggling with form. Seems like a 3rd or 4th round pick.

Personally I wouldn’t do that, wouldn’t give up Ryder for a pick that’ll get absorbed be matching a bid on Jackson Mead (F/S this year) especially given we have 4 4th rounders already. Effectively giving him up for nothing.

Would want to do a pick upgrade for an early pick.

My belief is that mead gets bid around 35-60, probably later, and that we could always take 2020 draft picks or get creative with pick swaps.

I don't think anyone is giving up an early pick for him, even if it's only an upgrade.

2020 3rd round pick might be the go then.

Surely theyre thinking about Lycett (their current #1 ruck option) and Ladhams who apparently is killing it in the reserves.

I dont think either SA club will be looking to invest $1.2m per year into Grundy.
