Worth rebooting to see a comment from Joffas old mate Tess. I'd forgotten about her.
You know, if I ever thought an internet poster might succumb to the bullying that was rife, it was Tess.
She copped a lot of crap from all quarters, and yes I did join in for which I am eternally shamed and I did apologise to her as much as I could.
I don’t see her anywhere on the net anymore and I hope she didn’t take that final step. Though I could understand if she had.
Hope your out there somewhere Tess. Hope you are well and living life to the full.

What happened to Barb from Carlton?

What happened to Barb from Carlton?
No idea.
Tess was Collingwood through and through.
So I was more invested in her life story than Barbs.
And Tess had a hell of a life story. Was why she was easily bullied. And like the retaliator on the field, she took the punishment while the bullies are still around today.

Think i looked at her Facebook page a year or 2 ago and seemed ok.

Tess actually runs one of the biggest Melbourne Facebook groups around. Over 200,000 members.
She moved on from the crap she dealt with on these footy boards.
She also set up a EBWfb group with Culprit.

Who dragged this up ?

Went to every game except Sydney. Miserable year. Only memories are Wally Lovett's report and getting weeks on his debut, and the glory of the train trip home from Geelong after the final round win. One thing the current generation will never experience.

It must be noted this win was the first win by Collingwood in the last game of their season for many many years.

Since 1968, when Peter McKenna kicked eleven goals against then-South Melbourne at Victoria Park. 1968 was a disappointing season for the Magpies – the only season where they missed the finals between 1964 and 1975, yet the only time they won their last game between 1959 and 1981. It’s amazing that on a very warm (23 degrees so one would have gone to the football in shorts and a T-shirt), yet extremely windy, Anzac Day weekend in 1968 Collingwood kicked just 2-19 (the fewest goals they have ever scored in a match against St. Kilda and their fourth-lowest score ever against the Saints), yet deadly rival Carlton kicked only 1-11 two days ago in the same very warm, dry, windy weather against Essendon!

I come in peace.

I listened to the Open Mike interview with Ray Shaw. He talked about his sacking at Collingwood at age 27 two days after the 81 Grand Final.

Was particularly scathing of Tom Hafey in that he sacked him with a two minute phone call to tell him 'services no longer required' rather than a face to face meeting.

He didn't go into much more detail but there must be more to this. I've no doubt Hafey was pretty ruthless when he wanted to be but to sack Shaw in this way seems unusual (and pretty disrespectful) ??

I thought the story was that Ray Shaw left of his own accord after some disagreement with the club. No matter which story is true, it was ridiculous that such a good player was back in the vfa at that age.

:musicnotes:We've finished ninth again.........the Richmond Tigers finished ninth again......

In any season you will see it is our fate.......to miss out on the eight.......win a few then lose a lot......and then it is too late.....

Our season's down the drain......we haven't been the same since 1982.......whether Frawley or Jeans......Northey or Jewell.....

we win a few late......then it's too late......WE'VE FINISHED NINTH.....AAAAAAAHHHHHHGAIN!!! :musicnotes:
