Disappointed about Hanners. And he's also in my depleted SC team! But I did hear it said that he/they were worried after his first game that the second week after a long lay off can be tough. He got over that so I thought he'd be ok. Clearly not. If he's sore better they pull him out. Doesn't mean he's a bust.

So much angst.....

“It was always part of the plan that Dan would need a break at some point after an initial block of games, and with a bit of soreness lingering after the Richmond match, it made sense to do it this week,” Head of Performance Matt Hornsby said.

“He was able to get through our main training Thursday, but we feel that missing this weekend is the best approach as we continue to build his workload.

“He has come a long way over the past few months but it’s important we are patient and realistic in our expectations with a player who is returning mid-season.”

Hands up who believes the club.

Seriously, they must think we're complete idiots with how often they lie. Just tell us the truth.
He went off at the start of training with the physio's but came back out and did all of the match sim and was one of the best. But it was noticeable he looked sore every time he went to stand up.

We won't know until next week, but their story matches what was seen so it's hard to disprove it at this stage.

I rather the guy slowly get back up to speed , than flog him and ruin all the work it has taken to get him to where he is now.

Would've loved to have seen Delta Badlands unleashed for Hanners: after the impact Hind had with his raw pace when he got his chance it would surely be worth a shot.

But instead we get (drumroll).... Newnes.:rolleyes:

FMD, this season has turned really ugly since China.

How do you know it isn't and if they lie so much if they told the truth you wouldn't believe them

Also North play a very physical game. Reckon they'd be laying into him at every opportunity. They'll be hitting into our guys in every way possible. And in very cold conditions. If he's going to miss a game, this would be one.

Good test for our youngsters. They're going to see how tough the game can be.

Seriously weak selection decision. Yeah fair enough if newnes copped the axe and took it really well and had 35 touches in the twos but seriously rewarding a bloke after a 20 possession game after he has been horrendous for the best part of 2 years Is bewildering. What do they think, that he’s gonna come back a different player now after that blistering performance. Daddy longlegs very stiff plus he adds a bit of pace that we still seriously lack.

People making comment about King being a risk to get in the draft
the kid was a clear number 1 pick and we where lucky to pick him as our draft pick due to his injury and to tell you the truth we know it's going to be a few years to get the strength in his body like any kid - plus him being a mad Saints supporter no way could we let him go - we will look back and say he was one of our best draft picks we ever had.

The other one is Bytel , the kid was expected to be a top 10 draft pick according to Power and being able to get him at pick 41 was a smart pick knowing once again these kids take a few years to get there bodies right.
and knowing the kid is a classy player when right.

People just have to be patient - these draft picks are not going to slot straight into our best 22 until they have the body same goes with Clavarino , Hunter Clark and Coffield.

Ok you do get the Rozee , Smith , Stack types but they a few and far between.

and everyone doesn't bring up Marshall who looks like a up and coming superstar as a rookie.
Battle pick 39 , Paton 46 , Wilkie rookie , Parker 47 all look to be great picks for really not a great cost.

Our star recruit has played 2 of a possible 15 games, why wouldn't there be angst.

It’s honestly a joke if Newnesy comes straight back in.
The bloke has been piss poor for a good 9 weeks. Finally gets a much needed demotion to the VFL, and could come straight back in. Hardly fair for the blokes like langlands who has been playing consistently well and been emergency a few times.
I watched the game and he didn’t defend hard enough, Not to mention He only laid 2 tackles for the day in a wet contested game!

I’d be fine with him being promoted after a good run of 3 consistent weeks in the VFL. But if they bring him straight back in I’ll be livid! Doesn’t show integrity at selection whatsoever
No surprise to see him renamed
