What it means for Collingwood: An opportunity to finally earn some flyby points and play at a world class stadium in front of the most passionate fans in the country.

SO often we look at the guns as important matchups but its the effectiveness of the bottom 3 on each side that can win or lose you games.
Chris Masten, an enigma (just love using that word ENIGMA) of the Eagles team or over 10 years. The most tackled player in the AFL, not fast, not tall, not big and doesn't kick goals. But this man has an appetite for blood and can run and cover space like no other. Over the journey has divided Eagles fans and keeps on doing so.
Chris Mayne, the journeyman who moved from the Purple Flogs to and even more hated team on ridiculous money. After two pretty average seasons he came good last year and Pies fans decided he wasn't as bad as they first thought. Another role player who can surprise.
The supporting talls - Oscar Allen v Mason Cox
The backup ruck forward v the super utility who just knows how to football. One is a natural footballer with a competitive streak that is quickly making him into a best 22 player. The other is a 210cm giant American playing a foreign game in a foreign land.

Team spirit and mojo are seriously under rated. When a side plays together for long enough they become as one. They become not 22 individuals but a single organism moving as one. Some parts are older, some younger, some smaller, some taller and others are just beasts. Not too hard to see the parts in this infamous image that will bring smiles to Eagles fans for eons to come. And frowns and fear to our opposition.

THE GAME
Looks like a decent forecast.
The big query is what will Bucks and the Pies change. They have seen teams such as Port and the Swans beat us with "dirty fast football". Low kicks into the forward line taking away our intercept marking dominance and rebound. The Pies in recent week have been fluffing around playing possession football, taking their time but not getting it inside their forward 50 enough. But do they have the players to change styles? So many outs do they keep things simple? Or with all the outs maybe change is easier!
One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over but expecting a different result. Bucks isn't insane so I expect a play on at all costs game plan, run at the Eagles and attack as fast as possible and get the ball inside 50. Expecting the Pies to treat this game as a free hit and to play with licence to run and take risks. It's the only way to beat the cycle and snatch an unlikely away win against a team in form.
The Eagles will simply look to bring their brand and build on recent form. They must bring 'the heat' with pressure acts forcing turnovers and intercept marks in defense. The two rucks to work over Grundy. We need to be well prepared to expect a fast game from the Pies and for them to lower their eyes kicking short into their leading forwards. Mids and defenders must zone / play in front and force those longer higher kicks to the advantage of our intercept defenders.
Prediction is the Eagles will have too much class and too much hunger. The likes of Nelson, Oscar, Gaff, Sheppard, Cameron, Hickey and Nicnat have yet to taste premiership success. Those fringe players will be desperate to hold their spots. In front of a home crowd I can see the Pies putting up a good half before the Eagles go up a gear in the 2nd half and pull away.
Result: Eagles by 47 points.
