I’d like us to look at Nakia. Would be cheapish, but upside is there and would fit our midfield nicely.

So, categorically, who should we be discussing? What is the point of discussing trading Hurley?? I can categorically say it won't be happening
Not at the moment..Do we have a first round pick this year, I forget.
Not at the moment..
Does help cap the nuff levels in this thread though. No picks and no players either would be ideal.dang, doesnt help any trade scenarios I would have thought
It's gotta be a problem with balance. Swallow, Miles, Bowes, Miller, McPherson and Fiorini is a very slow midfield group before you add Brodie to the mix.
Undeservedly so might I add. We kept guys like Baguley and Myers in the team because their 'known' mediocrity was valued higher than an 'unknown' kid. He's still behind some very average players
Someone who isn’t 29 still playing good footy, top 5 important player, stuck by us even after ruining a large chunk of his peak footy and still has 3 years left on his contract. So, categorically, who should we be discussing?

Facts are if he doesn’t want to leave we aren’t pushing him out the door.

Well, there's nothing like a 'fact' to shut down an opinion. Hopefully we go into 2020 with a fit and competent key forward and ruckman.Other thing is we don’t need to trade a player. We have two second rounders and a future first or second rounder to trade. Trading a 28 year old Hurley won’t get us anything greater a combination of picks we have won’t be able to.
Structurally we need Zerk and Draper more than Fantasia.I reckon the battle will be to keep fantasia, draper and zerk-thatcher.
The latter two will be coveted by other clubs no doubt.
Why would we need to give up a top 5 player to get one? Which Ruckman or Key Forward would you propose we trade Hurley for?Well, there's nothing like a 'fact' to shut down an opinion. Hopefully we go into 2020 with a fit and competent key forward and ruckman.
Because, I think, Zerk and Franga are both potentially best 22 next year, and by trading in a quality key forward we could keep Hooker as a key back. This could allow us to make the most of the talent we have, given Daniher's a 50/50. I'm not interested in either Smack or Brown having the key forward role full time. Why would we need to give up a top 5 player to get one? Which Ruckman or Key Forward would you propose we trade Hurley for?
Zerk and Franga potentially both best 22 next year, Hooker can play forward if he has to. Lose Clarke and Get Ceglar as a free agent.
Our out and out Key Forwards on our list are currently Daniher, Smack, Brown, Stewart, Gown. Then Stringer, Hooker, Laverde and Langford can all play a similar role. Our list balance is pretty good right now, we don’t need any more Key Forwards, any more and we’re simply robbing Peter to pay Paul.
I don't think it is either. I just think it should.Hurley is not going to happen, pretty simple.
And so, hopefully we go into 2020 with a fit and competent key forward and ruckman.I can think of a multitude of reasons why it shouldn't, and won't.
Raz says he's staying. I'm inclined to take him at face value on that. If his story changes at season's end... anger, annoyance and Conor Rozee.Well seeing as that's now cleared up, what can we get for Fantasia?
