Not surprisingly Freo didn't get any votes for R16.

Fyfe's tally of 65 surpasses the 2018 sixty to be his highest tally since 2016 (at least). Brad Hill's 35 surpasses his best Freo tally (34 in 2017).

Fyfe's equal 5th overall.

I remember being annoyed by that too, Hannebery within striking distance of Fyfe in the last round and he miraculously gets the top coaches votes to clinch it..

heres the stats from that game, not exactly scandalous and in hindsight its obvious Longmire hated Tom Mitchell lmao, but still pretty suss.

I think its moreso Fyfe got injured and lost due to missing games/playing injured in 2015.

Robbie Gray got 10 votes in the final round of 2014 when he tore us to shreds, Fyfe once again on the sidelines.

In an award where you can poll 6-10 votes each game for being top 3 on the ground, it is never good to be missing so many games.

Votes vs Sydney
8 Jake Lloyd (SYD)

5 David Mundy (FRE)
4 Tom Papley (SYD)
3 Bradley Hill (FRE)
2 Dane Rampe (SYD)
1 Sean Darcy (FRE)
1 Reece Conca (FRE)

No votes for Reid even though he kicked 21% of the game's goals. Brayshaw's contested possessions did nothing for the coaches, likewise Parker.

What a weird collection of votes?

Those votes are cooked. Yo could watch that game and NOT give Joel Hamling a vote? And give Darcy one
Completely agree. Hamling was clearly the best player on the ground from what I saw. It was the defensive equivalent of a 6+ goal game from a forward. Darcy was a borderline liability for the first half and Lloyd deserves to be in the votes but not at 8.

Lloyd's robust stat line was not commensurate with his perceived impact on the match. He played a proper Joel Bowden-type game.

Also GTFO with this no votes for Hamling bulls**t. WTF is wrong with Lyon and Longmire?
Individually, Lloyd getting 8 and Hamling none is just weird, the fact they both happened is downright conspiracy level s**t. How did both coaches think Lloyd's side to side kicking and junk marks provide more value than what Hamling did

Compare Hamlings stat line with Liam Jones from Carlton who got the max 10 votes against Gold Coast. Jones took 4 more marks (only 1 more contested mark though) but other than that the stat lines are almost identical. I didn't watch the Carlton game but it would be interesting to hear from someone that did as to how his game compared to Hamlings.

Jesus beeping Christ, what the flip does Joel have to do to get votes, climb a goal post !!!.

This is outright discrimination against our fullback. Obviously Darcy must be providing them with free milk.

No Joel, no Freo.

Votes vs Bulldogs
9 Marcus Bontempelli (WB)
9 Jack Macrae (WB)
3 Caleb Daniel (WB)
3 Jason Johannisen (WB)
3 Aaron Naughton (WB)
2 Andrew Brayshaw (FRE)
1 Bailey Dale (WB)

Brayshaw with his first votes for the year, after getting 3 votes in the Carlton game last year, a decent effort in a 50 point shellacking. He becomes the 18th player for Freo to get votes this year, equal to our number last year.

Wonder if Langdon had the 2 from one coach or 1 from each side. My guess is the one coach gave him the two, and that was the Freo coaches - they seem to rate hard work over finess and Langdon did work hard.
