It’s like he is born again! The last 6 weeks have been a breathe of fresh air with him in the midfield. Finding a lot more space and not wasting possession.
He's being used well. It looks like he's found a yard or two of pace, or rather, acceleration.

OUT: Forlorn, lame-arsed trailing behind opposition player with the ball.
IN: Hunting down and nailing opposition players just getting, or about to get, the ball.

Absolutely elite numbers. Then add the fear factor he brings when around the contest...
Ive mentioned this before but losing weeks years ago with hits on Reiwoldt and the Carlton player, is now giving us a return........opposition players sch1t themselves knowing that Captain Jack is coming in the opposite direction.
Its been easily seen the last 2 weeks that a short step has been placed to avoid contact.

Others have mentioned that he's gone from career worst to career best in a space of 2 mths, this has some correlation to the inclusion of Larkey into the senior forward line and Wood's improving football under the instruction of a new voice....

During this transition whether it could've gone to sch1t or not , his leadership on and off the park has been exemplary IMHO.

Didn't Bard have Jack thoroughly head ferked by the end hey?

Brad: "There's no sense in flying the flag, real leadership is blah blah, go stand in the forward line and nervously take set shots"

Rhys: "You're a contested ball beast who likes hurting blokes and can intimidate the opposition. Go do that. You obviously know where the goals are, so feel free to have pings if you think you;re on. Btw, we may need to swing you forward to chaneg things up as the case may be, but just go do what you;re good at"

Double edged sword

He is definitely our leader because when he is having a down day it seems like the entire midfield is down too

When he is on though it seems the entire team is crunching and bashing through the packs like mad men

Everyone looks up to you Zeebs. You have to set the standard on the field every game

I expect a strong response from him in Brisbane

Just didnt do enough again.
The play in the last where he was streaming through the middle and went to Brown who had 3 on him including Paul Salmon and Dustin Fletcher was a terrible decision.
Chalk and cheese between tonight and Collingwood.

Three times he went to ground waving his arms for a free while his opponent impacted the contest.

As someone else said, he must lead the way every week. He has been immense the past 6 weeks since he eliminated this crap from his game. Seeing it creep back in was a huge barometer.

Thought he was really good in the first half, but geez, that third quarter was an absolute shocker from him, and it didn't get much better in the last. Those missed tackles were so unlike him. I actually had to do a double take to see if it was actually him. I couldn't believe it.

And yeah, it's been said before, but those ******* hack kicks. They're stupid most of the time, but yesterday they were downright idiotic (and to be fair, it wasn't just him). We were getting far too predictable with the way we moved the ball out of D50, and they had a great structure behind the ball with one back, usually Hodge, who is a defensive genius. The last thing we needed was hacks forward from congestion because we simply had no one there. There was even one occasion where Ziebell burnt Atley by hand when it would have crated some run, and just booted it long to space where we had no one. We needed someone to show some composure in there and keep the ball, but obviously Jack isn't that guy. Disappointing.
