Yep and the slowly dying RL get wall to wall coverage in both Murdochs rags and Ch 9 Newspapers and hardly a wimper for the biggest crowd puller in Sydney the Swans and GWS get even less..

Lions have topped 28,000 for first time since 2005. Victorians don't realise that Lions lost over 5,000 members to Suns they day they came into the competition, so taken a while to rebound.

Increase of 4,919 over 2018.

Finally passed Hawthorn for first time since 2008. Only a bit over 1,000 behind Collingwood despite the Pies coming off a Grand Final (I think).

Excellent growth again.

Increase of 9,517!!! The last 5 weeks have slowed membership numbers down at pie land.

Still the club would be happy with a 9,517 increase which is the biggest increase out of all Victorian clubs

Increase of 4,919 over 2018.

Great result the sleeping giant has awoken!Yep the comp needs a strong Essendon and of course Carlton.The final overall AFL membership tally should be way over the million mark this year.

It’s a big improvement considering Richmond, Collingwood and Hawthorn reached their numbers on the back of premierships and/or sustained success. Essendon haven’t won a final for 15 years to boost anything.

Yep the comp needs a strong Essendon and of course Carlton.

No it doesn't. The game has been just fine over the past 18 years.

Of course it's good when clubs who have been far from success for a while have a good period and their membership spikes. But no club "needs" to be strong.
