This but to be fair everything else about his game is so good you'd only need his kicking to come up a bit. However, the kicking is laughably bad at the moment.

For a bloke that can’t kick as you all say then he isn’t worth a second rounder imo. This is coming from a club full of players that can’t kick bar about 3. Last thing we need is another Jayden Hunt. Hunt isn’t bad, but disposal not great.

You'll get lots of garbage responses, I'll try to go serious for you.

If form is an up and down thing, then you're asking these questions where his form is near bottom of the curve - so keep that in mind. First 6 rounds or so he was playing well and you would have got a different response from Freo fans. My 2c:

1. The good is his work rate, tank and general ability to cover the ground with good speed and he'll find space. He's not defensively great, he can't stick a hard tackle, but he's better than say BHill who works the other wing with us.
2. Outside and outside even more. He's a pure winger and plays that role well when on. But he can't switch to a back flank because he's not a strong 1-on-1 player or good by foot. He could play high HF in a stretch, but he doesn't have great goal sense and he's not an inside mid by any stretch.
3. Good disposal and Ed have yet to be introduced. When he's in form, and the team is playing well he'll hit an open player well enough. But he's just as likely to pick a difficult option requiring Pendlebury skills then kick like a wounded mule - i.e. in form he's adequate, out of form and he's bloody awful.

Weakness - skills have deteriorated and will need work put in to improve. Is prone to the odd brain fart but is generally ok.

Strengths - pace, natural ability and hardness.

Cheers. So the basic consensus is his skills aren’t great. Well we’ve got a midfield with poor skill sets so we really don’t need another, but then again our standards are very poor.

Melbourne really need to hit the draft hard this year, after giving up quite a big price for Lever and May in the past 2 years.

I dare say you should try shop the likes of Neal-Bullen around for another mid range pick in the draft too, you guys can bounce back pretty quickly next year with some creative drafting and trading imo

Maybe, but we might not be far off the 8 with some decent midfielders.

He's pretty consistent. More than half of his games over the past 2 seasons have been 25 plus and over possessions. Finished 4th in the Dockers B & F last year.

I rate him highly, yes his disposal is a bit iffy sometimes but I reckon he is a gun and extremely valuable to our team.

Interesting how many people dislike him on here, hes certainly nowhere near the worst for us every week.

He gets the ball a hell of a lot for a winger so his 2 or 3 brain farts a game can be tolerated. He is generally a dead eye having a set shot too, just on the run he can spray it a little bit, probably because he is so fast.


I expect him to grow into a genuine gun of a player, hope he does it at Freo.
