The AFLPA award is voted by the players. They voted for Tom and he won the Brownlow. Seems like he was deserving to me.

The mids only award criticism is fair enough, but the truth is that the best player in the comp has been a mid every year for the last 20 years without fail. There have been other players who have been great (Lance Franklin, Nick Riewoldt) but they weren't the best that year.

Geelong polled 88 votes last year and no one player got more than 17.

Cripps got 20 out of 37 and Carlton have improved, Neale got 11 out of 56 at Freo (Fyfe 16) and moved to Brisbane where no one except Beams got more than 6 out of 45 and both Brisbane and Neale have had great years. Melbourne were really the odd team out with two players getting 20+.

I'm going Neale Cripps 1-2 then someone from Geelong 3, either Kelly or Dangerfield.

Maybe, but umps tend not to vote for those who aren't eligible and he got rubbed out early in the year, so I dare say he'll get less.

Will Coniglio be the lure in a greyhound race ? Who takes votes off Neale and Bontempelli ? interesting
year coming up, accumulation versus impact Dusty and Danger got a lot more votes than Mitchell.
