The best defender isn't going to go to Patton. Hipwood is at least three or four times more dangerous than Patton, even before Patton's last knee injury, and that's as someone who's got a massive mancrush on Patton.
Correct. We'd need someone like Buddy if we actually wanted to draw the best defender off Hipwood, but Buddy is old and would bust our cap. Hipwood will be fine.

I would add Linc to that. Could be huge come finals. And we haven't seen the best of Adams yet. His versatility will be invaluable.

If Gibbs is being left out of his current team for his defensive work I can’t see us being interested.
And let's not forget the gambling problem. We just cleared one out and have got Christensen off it, no need to add another.

Heard whispers from a club official that a couple of Demons players are disgruntled and exploring their optiond. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Obviously this means that there will be tough decisions come end of the year, from a Lions perspective.

Mmmm! We could take Clayton Oliver & Angus Brayshaw off their hands.

If he was disgruntled, I’d do Collingwood’s first rounder this year, our future first and Taylor for Oliver and a future 3rd rounder back.
What do we think? Would that be paying overs or unders?

Still keen on Hunt Jas, or has that ship sailed?

Yes, I really like him, great pace and takes the game on and I think we have the development staff that could improve his weakness ie. disposal + we all know Fages and co are the best at using a players weapons and Jayden certainly has a weapon.

A lot would depend on where the Pies first rounder ends up, could be anywhere from pick 18 to 11, then we back ourselves to go really well next year and only be handing over a high teens pick. If we got Oliver our elite inside mid brigade would be set for the next 5 years.

I also think the Demons could be keen on Tom Cutler.

I’d do that in a heart beat.

Unders. He's only 22, was an All-Australian at 21, can be one of the best inside mids in the league in the next few years, and is contracted for two more seasons. I don't see Melbourne budging for anything other than a Godfather offer.

Horrible ball use. Big no thanks from me.

Have a look at Daniels Riches post in the Tom Cutler thread on the Trade page.

Perhaps we could throw in Harris Andrews to sweeten it. There is no way I’d give up that much for Oliver. Two first rounders and a solid 100 game player. Insane.

What would you be prepared to give up for Oliver mate?

Would do this is a heartbeat but surely Melbourne aren’t that dumb. He’s an absolute gun and I’d think they’d want early first rounders to even considerX

Clayton Oliver is an absolute gun, imagine having an inside mid brigade of Lachie Neale, Jarryd Lyons and Clayton Oliver, 3 of top 10 inside mids in the competition... with Jarrod Berry rotating through, WOW!
