How much of a difference Hodge has made is a complete guess. And frankly Hodge had a league wide reputation as an outstanding leader, Pendles doesn't have that reputation. Brisbane were keen to get Hodge for FREE. Nothing to suggest that any club would have paid up for Hodge and it's less likely that any club would pay much for Pendles, as he doesn't have the same leadership reputation. Unless a club is confident that Pendles will become the third bloke in the history of the game to play 400 games, he'd net us very little in trade.

Actually, I had a chat to the ladder the other day and the ladder told me that Hodge may have had an impact, but the ladder wouldn't spend a high draft choice on him or his like (particularly Pendles, who doesn't have the same leadership reputation) because a high draft choice can be spent on someone like Lochie Neale, who has definitely had a massive impact to that team.

I agree - we have precious few on the list and can ill afford to lose another KP player. But equally, if he stays and he cant get his body right, where are we then?

The challenge is how to get his body right.

Well this year he has played 14 games plus 3 pre-season games. Last year he played 7. He did a minor hammy on the tough Perth surface after consecutive recent games at Marvel. That evidence suggests he has developed greater resilience this year. In 2017 he played 20 games.

The challenge is how to get his body right.

It's a risk either way. If you keep him and he never becomes durable it's a big waste. But if you trade him, there's very little chance you'll net anyone close to the same level as talent; you could have a top three pick (which we wouldn't get for Moore at the moment) and there's a fair chance that you wouldn't get as talented a tall, eg. Shache, Weitering, Lachlan Hansen, that St Kilda guy whose name escapes me, etc...

I don’t say it lightly, but maybe we should trade Sidebottom. He’s not giving anywhere near the level of output he should be but would still command a hefty trade price. If we need to get quality in we have to give up quality. I feel like what we’d get for him would outweigh what he’s currently bringing.

It would be fascinating to know what Clarko would do with our list during trade week. He’s ruthless.

The thing is we don't have enough kpp to trade Moore and despite the injuries, he's still more likely to become a good one than anything we get for him in trade.

Very unique player at 203cms. Runs, jumps and moves like a 190cm player. He’s 2cms taller than most ruckman. Same height and weight as Grundy. We need to keep Moore and get him right. We need to spend $$$ on our medicos and fitness department and suck it up and pay the tax for exceeding the soft cap. We have the money, spend it on a cap we can exceed.

Bunch of one paced mids, some poor users, not much leg speed and no KPP depth.

In no man's land, will make the 8 but not really threaten for the next few years.
