Went to buy some phenibut caps to help me get to sleep during the uni term and couldn't find anywhere in Oz that sells them.
Turns out they were made a Schedule 9 drug at the start of last year lol.
I tried this back when it was legal, and had a horrific reaction. Extreme fatigue and the worst depression of my life for about 8 hours. I can't find any examples of this happening to anyone else online. Some people had these symptoms as withdrawals, but no one seems to have suffered it from the first dose.

Sounds like pretty horrific and addictive stuff.
Testosterone boosters over the counter are a load of rubbish, right?
Correct. Some compounds have been found to help bring test levels up to baseline in men that are deficient in something or suffering from a health issue. But in healthy men (and I assume women) the OTC stuff will have little/no effect.

Didn't mind Phenibut when I tried it. Bloody annoying they keep adding Nootropics as being unavailable. Sure go ahead and get pissed or give yourself 15 sorts of Cancer with cigarettes, but don't go taking perfectly safe (at the right dosage) stuff that can help you concentrate, improve memory or improve creativity. God knows why you want any of that happening in the population at large. Clever country :drunk:

ZMA is promoted as a test booster.

What it actually does is help you fall into a tremendous deep sleep.

I used to mix up my own in the olden days. Zinc Magnesium and B6 in bro-split savage doses.

I stopped taking it when I found out it also helps with girlie menstrual stuff ewwww.

These days I prefer cranberry juice.

I used to take an armodafinil called waklert a few years ago. I was on it for 6 months straight, and can safely say it is the best mind/smart drug I've ever used.

I had to stop taking it because I was meditating while on it, and accidentally astral projected.

It harshed my vibe and ****ed my chi.

Best thing ever invented.

I recently was gifted some second rate s**t called modalert. All I got from that was dry mouth and a weird desire to press the report button.

Yeah seems to be a wide array of reactions to it.
I was regularly taking the top recommended dosage and didn’t seem to have any withdrawal issues.
It’s prescription only in Russia though which probably says a lot about it.

L theanine and caffeine are legal and great as nootropics. Most of the other noots are poorly studied and have significant issues with being addictive/dangerous. If they were legalised then every uni kid would start dropping them like candy and we'd have a problem IMO, as they do in the States with half their students abusing adderall.

I heard a quote that went something like "there's no such thing as a biological free lunch". Similar in meaning to "what goes up, must come down".

Anyone know a half decent PWO that won’t keep me eyeballed all night?

I leave the office pretty late most nights and sometimes need a kick for a bit of focus.

I’m not sure such a thing exists.
Most rely on caffeine and that has a half life of ~6 hours (meaning if you consume 10mg at 6pm you’ll still have 5mg in your system at midnight and 2-3mg at 6am)

Redcon1 Big Noise.

Just because I don't get my stuff online, and that's available at the nearest nutrition warehouse. If you shop there the staff will push you towards the house brand Anabolix NGorged which is ok but Big Noise is a better product.

Both are $70 mark.

Google 'Best non-stim pre-workout' if you want to research what else is out there.

Re: Protein & Other Supplements

I train pro ath's, we use a combination of 100% organic spirulina combine protein and similar product made of creatine/glutamine mix.

All sorts of whey protein only have a 20% absorbtion rate, no matter what brand or how good the marketing is. It is also choc full of fillers. The stuff we use is 90-100% effective/absorbtion rate, no fillers or artificial flavouring. Results are outstanding. Ridiculous compared to any whey. However whey is good for cheaper use and taste. A combination of the both is the winner.
All of the whey is absorbed but 17% is utilised for body protein(muscle growth) is what you meant I gather , spirulina body protein rate is less than Whey.
The athletes you train should be using EEA’s which has a body protein rate of 99%.

a not too upbeat study on the paleo diet.

A variety of fiber components, including whole grain sources may be required to maintain gut and cardiovascular health.
lol

Anyone got any thoughts on Ligandrol?
WADA do apparently.

Seems like one of the few SARMs that has had at least some human study done, a single study though.

Strictly speaking, the data in the study supports their statement (which is a bit neither here nor there anyway).
The study just has weak statistical value (small population, short duration) and relies on a “well if A increases B, and B increases C, then an increase in A equals an increase in C” scenario which, in my experience, is rarely the case.

It's a scandalously weak hypothesis and speaks to the 'pro grain' confirmation bias of the researches to reach that conclusion based off the data available in the study.

What about the authors backgrounds makes you believe they are pro grain?

And they had no actual hypothesis for leading into the study:
Objective
To determine the association between dietary intake, markers of colonic health, microbiota, and serum trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO), a gut-derived metabolite associated with cardiovascular disease.
Their results were that the exclusion of grains in a diet lead to changes in bio-markers associated with poorer gut health and CVD.
Hardly a leap that their conclusion would say that grains may be required for CV and gut health.

Equally possible that dairy may be required for CV and gut health.

Generally speaking - probably.
In the context of the study - not really.
It (the study) doesn’t assess the impact of bio markers associated with dairy consumption (uses markers associated with resistant starch and animal based proteins) and thus makes no conclusions about it.

As I said earlier; it’s not a *great* study due to the length, number of participants and the fact they don’t actually track guy related or CV related disease or mortality.
It’s a decent study for what it is, could probably just do with a caveat in their conclusion that longitudinal studies assessing mortality associated with paleo are required to be more conclusive.

I think I'll finally buy some protein powder from Bulk Nutrients now that I'm exercising more regularly but I can't decide if I want WPI or WPC. My partner will use it also, she just wants to gain weight but I still want to lose weight, bit of an awkward situation. She would just do shakes while I generally try to make some kind of no bake slice/bar/biscuit contraption to try fool myself into thinking I've had dessert. Seems a bit of a stretch to get a kilo of raw WPI and 1kg of flavoured WPC but I'm not sure what will work best for both of us.

You guys that just use it in shakes, do you use water or milk and what's your favourite flavour?
