When I asked about the chance of North getting a shot before years end - I was told don't look at North's stats, look at his opponents.

Ticket punched is it?
His own stats have dropped away also. The other thing I noticed with North is he has been moved around a bit - tried in the backline and then forward line without great success. I’d say he is in trouble. Not quick enough unfortunately.

Wasn’t he good mates with Cerra? Maybe it was the ole ease the real star in? I call it the Alex Forster (for Lachie Neale) or Shane Kersten (for Joel Hamling) strategy.

Ha ha, I've said something similar in the past. I doubt it really, but makes you wonder.

On North in particular, perhaps they want to see if he can adapt his game a bit. Probablly not going to be able to play the same midfield game at AFL level, so needs to be more rounded - plus, the way Ross does it, if you can't play HB or HF first, seems you don't get much of a look in. Not sure, just guessing.

They were supposedly mates but I reckon if you listen to the two of them talk about it, sounded much more like they have known each other for ages but aren't necessarily close. Andy is his best mate at the club I reckon.

Was a big wrap for tom at the start and through the first half of the season. Looked fit and focused and for mine was next cab off the rank. However despite stringing together a good run of games was passed over for others maybe less deserving. I think as a young player this does affect your confidence and output going forward. If your playing well and getting overlooked for others can see how guys form can wane .
Maybe this is not the case with tom but his form has dropped away a fair bit from where is was earlier on

I mean this sounds reasonable at first glance, but then when you think about it's basically saying he is prepared to let his whole career go because he feels a bit hard done by for not getting picked.
To me it's more likely he has received feedback about deficiencies in his game, let's say it's defensive running or accountability at stoppages (these are hypothetical examples, I haven't actually seen him play) and for whatever reason he hasn't been able to address them and therefore the team have decided given his strengths going forward likely won't make up for his weaknesses that he won't be recontacted. The last thing they try before making a final decision is moving him round to see if he is suitable for other positions. I.E. His form and confidence are gone because he sees he won't make it. To me this is a simpler theory than he was overlooked for less deserving players because what? The match committee want the team less effective? He passes the port to the right?

Luke Valente and Toby Watson not named for Peel with injuries.

Interesting addition to the HBF being Jarvis Pina in his League debut playing next to Dillon O’Reilly who we chose instead for the mid-season draft.

Do we know what's up with Valente? Is it the same issue as before?

I reckon Sandi stays in for rest of year. Darcy is just too slow and doesn't put in the same effort around the ground sandi does.

We can't go with 3 ruckman again, so if Lobb comes back, i'd drop Darcy back to peel to keep team balance. He is the future I know but he needs another preseason or 2 before he becomes a 22 week genuine no 1 ruckman.

Dardy with 6 tackles.....thats new.
Second highest tackler behind Ben Howlett with 10 and kicked 2.1 goals, in a team that kicked 11.15.

Most of the inaccuracy was from the Peel players with 5.12 coming from them. Been banging on all season about this but goal kicking specialist and drills are a must.

PS. Percy (goal kicking and ruck coaching specialist!) says Hi.

Some folks missing there, Valente, North and Watson. I guess Nyhuis was game day emergency. All injured?

He was immense yesterday. Played his role to perfection.

Yeah, no doubt. I say let him finish out the year/career playing well. If any of the two rucks are going to be dropped (not that I think he should), it will be Darcy.

If McCarthy has done enough, he will replace probably Banfield or Shultz.
