Aussie killed in Canada with gf *murder*

It took NSW Police seven years to catch Malcolm Nader in the Australian bush which might be a bit tamer than the Canadian wilderness, he lived off the land or by breaking into people's houses to steal food etc.

This is where as Circus and Jack have proposed, they might have had help. I think the burning of this car was a red herring designed to send investigators in the wrong direction. Or it was fired on a delayed timer.

From the article:

"They seem to be doing things that are counterintuitive," German said, describing the apparent decision of the men to drive to a remote Manitoba community only to set their vehicle ablaze.

You have to wonder whether they were hiding out in that Gillam/York Landing area at all given that RCMP did a thorough search of the area and found no sign of them apart from that possible sighting in York Landing which seems now like a false sighting. If it's true that they were sighted in Ontario they couldn't have stayed in that area long, if they stayed there at all.

It will be interesting to see where it all goes from here, so many twists and turns in this story, it really could make a great movie some day.

The investigation seems to be moving to Ontario, police have had more tips out of there than anywhere else so among them all there might be something solid. These kids have got the jump on them.

Back to Gillam again, RCMP have pulled in the Underwater Recover Team to go into a section of the river.

(CNN) The manhunt in Canada for suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky involved an underwater search over the weekend after a damaged aluminum boat was found near a river in Manitoba.

They're leaving little crumbs. Or, the Police are jumping at shadows.

The police have nothing else imo but to check absolutely everything before they leave the area. The dogs weren't even able to pick up their scent. Of course going into water the dogs can lose it but they should have been able to track them to the water.

Drone and chopper thermal imaging couldn't pick them up either obviously .. so I think they're gone.

It might seem a bit odd they left anything behind at all but assuming they only had what they really needed with them.
Good point and the cops will likely know whether the items were deliberately left behind or not.

Nothing much seems to have been made of the possible sightings in Ontario with most of the search efforts still concentrated around Manitoba.

You get the feeling that the cops still don't have much of a clue where they are.
