I think if we land Papley then Martin is probably excess. He fights it out with Cunners for the one spot most likely.

I think if the Crows crash (so pick 8-10), we'd probably get a little something back. But it won't be a 3rd to a 2nd upgrade, that's a lot.
Maybe they throw in Cameron for a 5th.

He's contracted, and they don't want to lose him. If they let him go, we'll pay.

Im sad to say I think Crows will make finals.

I decided to re-visit last years trade period to see the true value of what we did given we're almost at the end of the season now. Given we've got a lot better idea of the ladder order i went and looked at each of the trades using the ladder order from today.

In essence we paid equivalent of pick 16 for McGovern, 13 for Setterfield, 57 for Newman and then came out in front on our remaining trades.



I didn't place a value on McAdam as he was a free hit. I did place a value on Kreuger though as we got pick 43 from Geelong for him.

I love how SOS turned pick 64 into 3 picks of better value although we didn't end up using the one from last year and yes we're still in front on the Stocker trade for those that are interested.

Possibly. I recall a man bereft of confidence, unsure of himself and unsure of his role in the side. Something that could be said about a number of our players in the Bolton era.

Whether you liked him or not, think some people are really reaching to find fault with Bolton.

Deserves a lot of credit for the environment which has seen no players of note want out despite poor on-field results.

Martin would be an option for one of the spots currently taken by JSOS, Gibbons, Deluca and Lang. You also have Daisy on limited time left. He'd have to earn a place on form but there would be a spot.

I don't think anyone is reaching. He did a lot right. But was not coaching well this year.

He walks in to an early audition for a HFF. Whether he holds that spot would be reliant on how much effort he puts in to keeping the spot. There is doubt, but he has more natural ability than all of them.

The cost for Jack Martin is going to be so high but the marginal gains from him over someone like Cuningham are minimal if at all.

Some weeks out with a broken finger, returned and didn’t adjust.
Perhaps a case of checking out already as well (a deal is as good as done, isn’t it...?).

When Main boarders come into the team boards... A dirty place that. Schuey makes his debut against reigning premiers as a late in for a bonafide AFL player, I reckon he did alright and is worth another go eventually, a debut by baptism of fire is not the be all and end all of his career.

Agreed. Looked lost early but built from there. Plenty have had worse first games.
