We could Bradbury our way to a flag (we won't) and that still wouldn't undo the memories of 5 years of underachievement.

Can only pray the players do enough on the field to get Kenny a gig elsewhere, best for everyone.

Gives Kenny a fresh start and the players new motivations.

Do you want us to go back to the primus era, where the club had no money because the supporters forced the club to sack mark williams and put the club years behind, and port fighting for the bottom four, with 100 point beltings. Sacking ken will do the same thing, put the club back years for no benefit, especially now we have developed a reasonable side

jesus aitch.

This is made more irksome in the knowledge this lists peak years SHOULD have been in that period post Hawthorn/Geelong/Sydney super dominance, and GWS not coming on as expected.

Port Adelaide - The Wasted Years.

Richmond getting a flag after the 2014 Final sums up the wastage!

Voss would be more attractive to Carlton than Hinkley. They have clearly seen what Hinkley is capable of, or incapable of. Voss has head coach experience and suffered from not doing an apprenticeship as an assistant first. He has now done that and I can see a club like Carlton willing to give him another shot.
But but but Ken means stability, 7 years experience as head coach, has (coached lol) the best club in Australia, is from Vic, media love him, players love him, Geelong love him, Donna loves him.

What a great package, get it done.

I didn't mention that as it's cancelled out by the Robert Rose Award!
Oh s**t, just looked up Voss's profile and he won that as well!

He really wouldn’t have. Ken said in his press conference that he’s more impressed with Marshall’s ability to get to the contest against Sydney and bring the ball to ground than his six tackles inside forward 50.

And since he said the same about Dixon last week against Essendon - that he doesn’t care too much about whether he hits the scoreboard if he’s competing - you start to get a clearer picture of why players get dropped.

‘Chance is but a name for a law not recognised.’

Don’t compete = get dropped. That’s the law of playing as a forward at Port Adelaide. If Marshall had competed against Carlton and Adelaide - instead of constantly giving up on contests - he would have been in the team all year.

Getting to the contest requires mongrel. You either have it or you don’t. Sure it can come from confidence but as we’ve seen with Watts, it’s all in the heart.

I hope we see Marshall blossom

That and job security.

My understanding is Voss and Ken are very much on the same page re coaching and football philosophy. In that event Voss getting the Carlton job could be a double win for us. Voss may want Hinkley on his staff and offer him a position. That might be enough to get Ken and a homesick wife back to Victoria.

The 2014 off-season at Alberton must have been a s**tshow for the ages.
It was a sad indictment of Hinkley's lack of understanding of what worked and what didn't that we got so close in 2014 and have been a s**t show since with the "tweeks" Hinkley has been making.

It's not about whether he selects Todd Marshall this week or not, it is the fact that he has been largely clueless since 2015.

Getting to the contest is about desire and commitment. Darren Smith was one of Port's greatest centre half forwards, 343 games, 456 goals and 7 premierships says so. Nobody would ever say Smith had mongrel but he was incredibly brave and attacked every contest.

Don't worry, Hodor Hinkley has got it all under control.

It’s a bit like the trope of the fading photograph, changing newspaper headlines and Biff’s matchbook in Back To The Future.

Every time there’s chatter of Hodor getting the business end of a banjo, the Adelaide Oval lithograph in Keith’s office morphs into a MyATM cashpoint as Chicki Boak naps on her front porch in Torquay unabated.

Darren Smith is the reason i'm a Port supporter.
